Sexual Abuse Prevention Training

Effective August 28, 2019, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, pursuant to Section 170.045, RSMo, requires school districts to provide trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate sexual abuse prevention training starting in the 2020-2021 school year. This training is required to be delivered each year to all students in grades 6-12. The school district training includes the following topics:

  1. Instruction on the knowledge and tools to recognize sexual abuse.

  2. Instruction on the knowledge and tools to report an incident of sexual abuse.

  3. Actions that a student who is a victim of sexual abuse could take to obtain assistance and intervention.

  4. Available resources for students affected by sexual abuse.

This training will be provided by the district social workers/home school liaisons during the month of September. If you would like to review the curriculum for a particulate grade level, have questions about your child's participation, or would prefer your child not participate in the curriculum, please get in touch with your child's counseling office by September 15th.

School Violence Tip Line School Violence Tip Line

You may have noticed a new School Violence Tip Line link on our Fulton58 website under the For Parents and Community tab. This is an anonymous tip line linked to the Missouri Highway Patrol's Courage2Report Missouri. To prevent school violence, they offer three ways to anonymously report a concern. When a tip is submitted it immediately goes to law enforcement and notifies the school administrators. Please take the time to watch the video below, and to read the Student and Parent Frequently Asked Questions.
