Principal Update
Dear Woodstock Community,
At Woodstock Elementary, integrity is at the heart of our community values. Doing the right thing—even when no one is watching—is how we create a safe, respectful environment where all of our students can thrive. Quarter 1 we have been learning about integrity in class and at Friday Morning Meeting. Last week we all learned to spell it!
Living this core value starts with the adults in our community. Modeling kindness, patience, and safety sets the ultimate example for our students. When we treat one another with respect and adhere to rules we show our children what it truly means to act with integrity.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community safe, positive, and supportive for everyone.
With Woodstock Pride,
Heidi Stoetzel Earle
Principal

Please remember the rules of the road. We are having WAY more unsafe incidents near our school and in the bus zone at the front. If school staff asks you to move your car or slow down, please do so politely. We have the job of keeping all 360 students safe, yelling at us does not make things better for anyone ad does not model integrity for our students.
A concerned parent sent these from our Oregon Driving manual as a reminder to all of us:
- All residential streets in Portland have a 20 mph speed limit even if not posted. House Bill 2682
- Speed limits are a maximum during optimal conditions and speeds must be reasonable given other traffic, pedestrians, people riding bicycles, the surface and width of the road, hazards at intersections, weather, visibility, and any other conditions that affect safety. The Basic Rule Law in the Oregon Driver Manual.
- Drivers must come to a complete stop at stop signs. Drivers must remain stopped for pedestrians in marked or unmarked crosswalks. Oregon Driver Manual.
- Drivers must stop before the marked stop line, marked crosswalk, or unmarked crossing area before entering the intersection. Oregon Driver Manual
- After the driver has stopped, if they are unable to see traffic from the left or right, they may slightly pull forward to scan the road before entering the intersection. Oregon Driver Manual
- All intersections are crosswalks regardless if they are marked or not. Oregon Driver Manual
- Vehicles must stop and remain stopped for a pedestrian when they are in the drivers travel lane and in the lane next to their travel lane. Oregon Driver Manual
- No parking within 20 feet of a yellow marked or unmarked crosswalk. Oregon Driver Manual
- No parking within 50 feet of an intersection if the vehicle is over 6 feet tall. Portland City Code 16.20.130

Village Table Check-In Survey — Now Available in Multiple Languages
Woodstock's Village Table representative attended this week's Board Community Connection event at Ida B. Wells High School, bringing Woodstock families' questions and concerns directly to the district as part of the ongoing Rightsizing process. The survey is now available in:
English | Español | 中文 | Tiếng Việt | Русский | Soomaali | دری | عربي
All language versions, along with additional Rightsizing resources (Feeder Pattern Maps and the district's School Profiles Dashboard), are available in the Woodstock Elementary Village Table Updates document.
Note: The Board of Education's regular meeting takes place this Tuesday, where a formal recommendation from the Superintendent is expected.
