Before they officially become Blue Hens, Red Dragons and Pioneers, our Rams and Vikings at Clarkstown high schools North and South shared their post-graduation plans on Decision Day. The celebrations highlighted the diverse future paths of seniors as they prepare for the next step of their journeys.

These bright futures are a direct reflection of CCSD's month-long Portrait in Action campaign, which highlights the District's promise to cultivate motivated, innovative, resilient and empathetic learners. By focusing on fifth (LW, LP, LK, LT, WN and WG), eighth and twelfth graders (BW, CHSN and CHSS), the initiative spotlights how Clarkstown students are actively mastering the essential skills needed to conquer their next academic chapters and beyond. The campaign wraps up next week, so keep an eye out for features from BD, NC and ST!

New City Elementary School's fifth graders were busy launching their own futures into orbit. After two weeks of intense research and construction, the young scientists unveiled martian bases designed to survive the harsh vacuum of space — balancing the technical realities of oxygen and food management with creative, earthly luxuries.

Centered around the theme "Level Up," STEAMfest 2026 challenged students and adults alike. From interactive activities to exhibits, the event demonstrated how CCSD learners are constantly rising to the next level of discovery and ingenuity.

May proved that some of the best lessons extend beyond the classroom walls, as several schools took their learning on the road. Lakewood Elementary School's kindergarteners stepped into Gio's kitchen to see sequencing in action, while Laurel Plains Elementary School's second graders visited a local firehouse to learn more about fire safety and prevention. To round out the month, Bardonia Elementary School's fourth graders launched into the Great American Mail Race, sending letters across the country to put their geography and communication skills to the test.

A Look Ahead A Look Ahead

CCSD is pleased to announce a new tradition celebrating the diverse talents and academic achievements of its seniors. On Tuesday, June 2 at 7pm, the District will host its first Fine Arts Signing at the Chestnut Grove Administration Center! Modeled after athletic signing days, this ceremony will honor students who have committed to pursuing higher education and careers in the fine and performing arts. We invite families and community members to join us as we celebrate the soon-to-be graduates and wish them success!
