As Principal of Special Programs, I am thankful for the wonderful staff at the Lipson Cancer Center at RGH for their expert care and wonderful senses of humor. And from our Special Education Sites

Heather Smith: I am deeply grateful for our incredible MEC and FLES staff, whose unwavering dedication to our students shines through each day. Staff work tirelessly to support students, helping them grow and learn in meaningful ways.

Jessica Newby: I am deeply thankful for the sense of belonging our program and organization fosters among students, staff, and families. Watching our team create a safe and supportive space where every individual feels valued and seen is both inspiring and humbling. It’s in those moments of connection—whether it’s a breakthrough with a student, a collaborative effort between colleagues, or the support from our leadership—that the true strength of our organization shines. I’m grateful to be part of a community that doesn’t just talk about inclusion and belonging but actively builds it every day.

Dan Healy: I am thankful for a team of staff that work tirelessly to meet the complex needs of our students. No matter what is thrown at them, staff are searching for creative solutions to help our students be successful. I am also thankful for the kind things that staff do here for one another and for our students. Birthday celebrations, Secret Pal gifts, food pantry donations, Christmas Project, First Friday breakfasts, etc. The day to day grind can be challenging at times, and staff do everything they can to do great things for students and to lift one another up.

Chris Bennett: I am thankful for all the staff that shows up to work daily and works with some of the most challenged students in the region. They do this with pride and genuine care, and I am thankful to work by their side.

Elise Comella: I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Newark Education Center Staff for your unwavering dedication and commitment. Your hard work and teamwork do not go unnoticed, and it is evident in the incredible progress we are seeing in our students. The growth they are making is a direct reflection of the care, effort, and passion you bring to your roles each day.

Thank you for your continued support for the NEC program, and for the positive impact you have on the students, and for working together as a team to help them succeed. Your dedication truly makes a difference, and I am so thankful to have such a talented and committed team
