Preparing for Possible Wintry Weather Next Week
Dear Families,
While we have been enjoying these cold, sunny, and crisp mornings, we want to ensure that everyone is prepared in case snow and ice decide to join the mix next week. As always, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.
Please stay informed about any weather-related updates from the district concerning potential delays or closures. If conditions necessitate a schedule change, you will receive notifications through:

Also, please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the weather; coats, gloves, and hats are essential. If we encounter icy conditions, please take extra caution during drop-off and pick-up to keep our students and staff safe. Additionally, be aware that buses may experience delays due to alternate routes or road conditions.
In the meantime, let's enjoy these brisk mornings and wish for a touch of winter magic—just enough to be enjoyable, but not enough to cause significant disruption.
Stay warm and safe!

Counselor Corner
Hello Families,
In our journey to nurture compassionate and empathetic children, teaching them how to navigate conflict is essential. The Peace Path is a simple yet powerful tool that guides children through the process of resolving disagreements and restoring harmony with peers. Our current lesson is teaching all grades how to use the Peace Path.
Peace Path Steps:
- Two people stand facing each other
- Each person takes a turn saying how they feel about what happened. The other person stops and listens.
- Each person offers a solution to the problem. This is a great time to refer back to our problem solving wheel for strategies. We don't move on to the next step until a mutually agreed on solution has been determined.
- Each person asks if "we are okay" to determine if the problem is solved and they are on good terms with each other again.
- They end by shaking hands, high fiving, or fist bumping and then go carry out their plan.
By following the Peace Path, kids learn to express their feelings, listen to others, and find solutions collaboratively. This approach not only helps them address conflicts effectively but also fosters important skills such as empathy, communication, and problem-solving.
Encouraging your child to use the Peace Path can lead to healthier relationships and a more respectful environment at home and in school. When kids practice the Peace Path, they become more confident in handling tough situations and learn how their actions affect others.
Let’s work together to help our children become peacemakers in their homes and schools! Our wonderful PTA will be painting a peace path outside in our recess area for students to use once weather permits.
Warmly,
Mrs. C
