MAY EVENTS
Storytelling
Aldine families enjoyed an evening filled with entertaining stories read by our guest readers: Candis Houston from Aldine AFT and Maria Meza-Davila from Garcia Leza Primary School.
Painting with a Purpose
Partners of Excellence Meeting
Aldine Community Meetings
Aldine ISD hosted community meetings this month to inform families about the latest district news, hear campus updates, and learn about programs, choices, and opportunities for Aldine ISD students. Topics included safety and security, accomplishments, summer learning experiences, college and career opportunities, and more.
Family and Community University Graduation Ceremony
Three hundred seven parents graduated from the Family and Community University that started classes in October. Throughout the year, families could attend in-person, virtual, and pre-recorded sessions that covered various topics. Families decided on their topics of interest. Whether taking ESL, GED, citizenship, cooking, SEL, Special Education, or health education classes, the parents who attended 15 sessions were eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony on May 24 at Davis High School. Superintendent Dr. Goffney, Board members President Randy Bates, Dr. Viola Garcia, Mrs. Rose Avalos, and members of the district's Executive Leadership Team and the community attended this event, where Aldine families were recognized for their commitment to pursuing adult education.
