If you have not filled out the Free and Reduced lunch application please take a minute and use the QR code to fill this out. If you have filled this out and haven't heard from anyone, please fill this out again! Hard copies are available at Livingston's front office. Maintaining our Title One status as a school is important in providing extra support for the great teachers and students of Glenn Livingston Elementary. Thanks for doing your part!
Fall Screening
Glenn Livingston Elementary screens students three times per year to ensure students are making progress in their literacy and math skills. This Fall we will screen Kindergarten in the following skills: Concepts of Print, Onset Sounds, Letter Names, and Letter Sounds. First Grade will be screened in the following skills: Word Segmenting, Nonsense Words, Sight Words, and Sentence Reading. Second and third grade will be screened on fluency rate, reading accuracy, and they will take an adaptive test which probes concepts of print, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, orthography, and morphology. Fourth grade will be screened on the adaptive test as well as Encoding, Word ID and Vocabulary. Fifth grade will be screened on the adaptive test as well as Word ID, Synonyms, Decoding, and Morphology. All students will also be screened using the aMath assessment which is also an adaptive assessment. Screening has begun at Livingston Elementary and will conclude hopefully by Aug. 29th. If you have questions about the screening assessments please reach out to your child's teacher or contact Mr. Laing.
Reading Instruction - The Foundations
20 Minutes of Daily Reading
The reason Glenn Livingston Elementary has a legacy of excellence is because of our parents, students, and teachers! Parents matter and have a huge impact on their child's success. Students benefit when parents support literacy at home. Please ensure your child reads, is read to, or reads to you or someone at least 20 minutes per day. Together we can't fail!
