Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,

At the February 10th School Committee meeting, members of the Healthy School Hours Working Group will share a quarterly update, including the full results of the recent community survey, which drew participation from nearly 2,000 individuals. This strong engagement—from families, staff, and especially students—has helped deepen and strengthen this work. At this point, the feedback does not indicate a clear consensus on how to move forward. As a reminder, this work is not primarily about school start times, but about student wellbeing—including sleep, physical and mental health, safety and belonging, and healthy engagement in learning. All of these dimensions are important and will need to be thoughtfully balanced as we continue working together creatively to improve student wellbeing.

Best,
Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

Superintendent, Bedford Public Schools
