Dear IG Families:
What a year it has been! Our staff is grateful for the opportunity to partner in the education of your child. We are blessed to do this work, and we hope that your child is leaving with a bank of positive memories and experiences.
This will be the last newsletter from Ivan Green for the school year. We have lots of construction happening this summer, so I will share some progress photos in July. Once August hits, you will start to receive communication from school to help you prepare your child for the start of school. You can expect some videos that help children and families orient to the building and to some of our procedures, such as arrival and dismissal.
Our school is generally closed for the summer, but Mrs. Collins and I will be here, just a phone call away if you have any wonderings or worries. Give us a call!
As we close for the year, I will once again share our Ethos statement. Our hope is that we are living our values as outlined in the words below:
Ivan Green Ethos
Ivan Green is a place for all students
To enjoy learning and playing
While sharing this school community
Made more vibrant by the diverse stories of its members
We value our rich history but are committed to our own growth
With exemplary and just educational practices
Tailored to meet students’ needs
For the betterment of our local and global communities
Through knowledge, compassion, connection
We are proud and dedicated to serve
In partnership with our students, their families, and our neighbors
Every day
We will always be motivated by the spirit of these fundamental values.
Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to the 2023-2024 school year! Please check the "Upcoming Events" section below for important dates. We wish our rising third graders the very best as they transition to Durand Eastman Intermediate School.
Sincerely,
Lucas Hiley. Ed.D.
