π Windsong Weekly: August 22, 2026
Dear Windsong Ranch Families,
We made it through our first full week of school and it was a success! Students are settling into their new routines and learning is already in full swing.
If you need to make a change to the way your child is getting home, please make sure to call the front office by 1:30pm. Please do not email the classroom teacher regarding dismissal changes. Teachers are busy teaching and may not see emails or check voicemail during the school day. Calling the front office by 1:30 guarantees our team can update dismissal logs and notify your child's teacher before the end of the day. And, just as in years past, if you need to pick up your child from school before our regular dismissal time of 3:10, you will need to do so by 2:45. Thank you for your continued partnership.
Windsong STRONG!

Principal

Classroom Fidget Use
This school year has brought a huge wave of big, bright, and noisy fidgets like giant pop-its, squishies, and items kids are want to trade with one another. While we love that they're fun, they've turned into a pretty big distraction during class. Here are the guidelines we have set for students:
Leave the big stuff at home: Please keep large fidgets, squishies, and any noisy items in bedrooms, not backpacks.
Keep it small & silent: If your child truly needs a fidget to focus, it has to be completely quiet, fit in the palm of their hand, and stay out of sight during lessons.
No sharing or trading: Fidgets are strictly single user, no swapping with classmates!
If we notice that a fidget item is becoming more distracting than helpful, weβll simply have them put it away in their backpack for the rest of the day. We will continue to follow any 504/IEP accommodations as written. Thanks so much for helping us keep our classrooms focused and productive!

Students who are interested in learning about, practicing, and competing in these events will need to start prepping NOW for the events they are interested in at home.
You will be able to indicate areas of interest for your student. Please keep in mind that there may be conflicts with practice and/or competition times, and it may not be possible to participate in multiple events. If you would like your child to participate in UIL Academics, please sign up BEFORE September 18, 2026. The first UIL contests will begin in October.
