They will train (with pay!) and prepare graduates in areas of Carpentry, Welding, Pipefitting, Outside Electrician, and more. EB also has many apprenticeship programs and can provide transportation to commuters, and full-time positions come with great benefits like paid vacation and sick days, health insurance, and 401K retirement plans. Interested seniors can view more details and apply online HERE.
Mental Health Awareness Event
This coming Tuesday, April 14th from 6p-7:30p, there will be on AHS campus a Mental Health Awareness Night in the Cafeteria and Bray Auditorium. Click HERE for the digital flyer. There will be a guest speaker, Sam V., a young woman who struggled through her high school years with mental health, as well as other community resource representatives.
SAT Testing
The registration deadline for the second spring administration of the SAT exam is next week on April 17th, so interested juniors should register ASAP. Remember -- just because a college is test-optional, it does not always mean that it is optional for you/your child if GPA is low based on the MA state college admissions standards, or if the major you're thinking of is competitive at a four-year college (e.g. business, nursing), so please consider taking an admissions test in those cases.
Click HERE to register. Click HERE to find and view seat availability for an SAT test location. Click HERE for SAT practice exams. Click HERE for more info about SAT fee waivers.
Financial Aid Completion
College-bound seniors and families: Please remember to complete and submit the FAFSA application before the prorioty deadline of each college applied to, or the college you've been accepted by and plan to attend. FYI: Bristol Community College's FAFSA priority deadline is May 1st. The FAFSA can be done 100% onilne. Class of 2026 will complete the FAFSA 2026-2027 form. The student and family must first create an FSA ID if you do not have one already. FSA ID is used to digially sign the FAFSA. Please email Ms Nellie with any questions or for support as soon as possible if you have any trouble!
MEFA Financial Aid Presentation
For AVA seniors/juniors and famillies who weren't able to come to our Financial Aid Night last Wednesday evening, HERE is a digital copy of the slideshow presentation by MEFA (MA Educational Financing Authority) on the general financial aid process as well as about their low-interest MEFA student loans.
As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!
