WAX MUSEUM COMES TO PHELPS WAX MUSEUM COMES TO PHELPS

Last week, students from Ms. Murphy’s and Ms. Sheehan’s classes wowed the school community with their incredible Visiting Wax Museum! But this wasn’t your average display—these wax figures talked!

Each student transformed into a historical figure or cultural icon, complete with costume, backdrop, and a “press to play” button. Thanks to some clever use of integrated technology, each statue came to life with a recorded speech. Guests were amazed as Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr, Abraham Lincoln, and many more shared their stories in the students’ own voices.

The museum was a fantastic blend of creativity, research, public speaking, and tech integration with the amazing push to speech feature. Visitors left inspired, informed, and beyond impressed. Bravo to Ms. Murphy’s and Ms. Sheehan’s students for bringing history to life in such a fun and innovative way!

SCHOOL PLAYS REVISITED SCHOOL PLAYS REVISITED

Last week, we featured pictures from the Tuesday play performance. Wednesday's group was also awesome! Big shout out to Wednesday afternoon's performers!

BRAIN GAME BRAIN GAME

Thank you to the PAC for sponsoring an awesome interactive hour long trivia event for each grade on Thursday, called Brain Game. Many teachers took on the challenge of wearing fun wigs during the games as a result of the students’ successful Fun Run fundraising! (Photos below)

COMING SOON: PHELPS FIELD DAY COMING SOON: PHELPS FIELD DAY

Filed day is this week: Friday, June 6th. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers. As a reminder to all volunteers, please do not take photos of any children other than your own.

In gym class this week, Ms. Beatty and Mr. Leavitt will be previewing the games and structure to give students an idea of what to expect. Staff will be passing out field day t-shirts the morning of the event for students to change into. There will be a few relay races involving water, but no one should get soaked. If your child is sensitive to potentially wet clothing, you may want to pack an extra set of clothes just in case.

To keep everyone hydrated, the PAC is collecting donations of water and will have large water jugs with ice at the different stations as well as cups. We encourage students to leave water bottles in classrooms to cut down on missing items throughout the transitions.

We are all looking forward to this fun day together!

YEAR-END ASSESSMENTS YEAR-END ASSESSMENTS

Students are working to complete their end of year I-READY assessments in Math & ELA, as well as DIBELS reading measures. These family reports will be coming home in your child's backpack over the next few weeks. We have seen so much growth in our students this year and couldn't be more proud of their hard work. if you are looking for a resource for more learning at home, all students have access to log onto i-READY Math & Learning Individualized learning pathways. This will be available over the summer, until the last week in July.
