Julian Visitor Policy *reminder*

Beginning Monday, November 7th, guests and visitors will be asked to wear visitor badges when entering the building for in-person meetings and events during the school day. All guests and visitors are still required to make an appointment in advance and sign-in at the front desk of the school office for meetings and appointments that take place during the school day. If you arrive to volunteer for CAST lunch, PTO lunch, or for field trips, you will be asked to sign-in on the iPad at the front desk. And then wear a visitor badge while in the building. Before leaving the building during the school day, when your visit ends, please return the visitor badge to the school office.

And remember, when you arrive to the building, please use the doorbell. One of the school office staff members will greet you over the intercom and will ask you the reason for your visit.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Julian Cellphone Policy

Jayhawk - ”Away for the Day, even in the Hallway!”

Parents/Guardians, this is a reminder of the cell phone policy that was shared with Julian families at the start of the 2022-23 school year:

"Please encourage your student to ensure that their phone is-AWAY FOR THE DAY, EVEN IN THE HALLWAY! This includes earbuds, airpods, applewatches, etc. As a reminder, Board Policy 7:190 Student Behavior addresses this topic. Please refer to #5 under "Prohibited Student Conduct" for the specific language regarding electronic devices. The language is also listed below for your reference."5. Communication

In 2020, Principal Christian implemented the theme of "over-communicate" amid the flexibility of the COVID19 virus and how information might change at a moment's notice. Last year, our theme was "growing together". And now in 2022-23, we'd like to continue with our new theme of "Stronger, Together". Here are the ways in which Principal Christian and the Jayhawk staff communicates:

  • Our Official Percy Julian Facebook Page (click here)
  • Christian's Weekly Communication (every week)
  • PowerSchool Daily Bulletin Alerts
  • Text Messages (Jayhawk Text Messages District 97 uses the notification system BrightArrow to communicate with families via email and phone calls. This year, we have started using periodic text messages to send reminders directly to parents' cell phones. In order to receive text messages, parents must opt-in by texting YES to 87569. Once you have subscribed, you will receive a text confirmation.)
