News & Updates

Hello CELC & MVLA Families,

I can't believe it is almost February. January has flown by. Speaking of flying by...Zero the Hero stopped by on Friday to visit our kindergarten classrooms. A huge thank you to our number hero for taking time out of his busy day to celebrate the 100th day of school with us.Thank you also to the parent volunteers that helped out with the 100's Day activities!

As I reflect on the past few months, I am so grateful for all of the amazing experiences I have had as CELC's Principal this school year. One of my favorite things to do is make positive calls home. The front office loves it when students come up with Pawsitive Referrals. Our Cubs bring so many smiles to our faces.

Mary Barkley, our Office Clerk, has been working really hard to keep up on study contracts and update student attendance. To ensure that your student keeps up on learning and gets credit for attendance, please turn in your student's contract work at the office. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education.

The District continues to be guided by California Department of Public Health and our experiences from last year. Thank you for your support while we continue to navigate the 2021-22 school year.

CUBS IN THE COMMUNITY

The Cubs in the Community tradition continues this school year. Mrs. RIpke's goal is to connect with 100 Cubs (Future, Former, or Current) by the 100th day of school. Building relationships with our students is important to us! If you see Mrs. Ripke out in the community, encourage your student to say hi. Not only does it create an opportunity to connect, it also supports students' language and communication skills. Follow the sightings on our FB page. Feel free to share our postings to spread the word. Mrs. Ripke looks out for future, current, and former Cubs. Check out the latest Cub sightings below. This former Cub was caught still celebrating the 100th day of school.
