"Do A Job"
JANUARY 16, 2026
Busy but fun-filled Winterfest Week at DKHS with dress-up themes each day, our pep assembly today, and a basketball double header tonight. We will crown our Duke & Duchess between games. Our girls play at 6 PM, with the guys to follow after the court festivities. Come on out and support our kids and show some Panther Pride!! The dance will be Saturday night from 7-10 PM in the auxiliary gym. Kids will enter from the lower lot on the north end of the building. We have been reminding them daily with announcements, email blasts, a message on Thrillshare to parents, and we had staff walking around the cafeteria to remind kids about no ticket sales at the door. Kids will not be allowed in if they don’t have a ticket prior to arrival at the dance. Here is a message that went out from the school multiple times.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!!
All Winterfest Tickets need to be purchased by the end of the day Friday. There are people at both lunches selling tickets and you can stop by the main office as well. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR!! YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TICKET!!
Our Competitive Cheer Team took first place at an invitational meet for the second time this year already. This group is really performing well, and their hard work is paying off with lots of trophies and medals. Keep up the good work, girls. We are proud of you.
Next year seems like a long way away, but we are starting the scheduling process for the 26/27 school year very soon. Please plan to attend as the process and the planning are taking a different approach this spring. February 3rd is an orientation night for incoming freshmen, and February 9th is for those entering 10-12 grades. Both meetings will be in the HS LGI starting at 6:30 PM.

Another shout out from Ms Nancy one of our bus drivers, thanking some of our high school kids for their leadership and cooperation. Good work fellas, DO A JOB Hogie’s Heroes this week.
Xaiver continues to be a light and a Leader on bus 6. He is so pleasant and kind and he uses proper social etiquette: I say “hello” and he says hello back, “have a great day” “have a great night” … he always greets me with a smile. Xaiver Aldrich is dependable when I call on him to help me and I appreciate him.
Keep up the great work Xaiver!
Ms. Nancy, bus 6
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to Carter Lynch. Carter keeps to himself and causes me no issues. Carter is also helpful with the younger children who get off and on at his stop; he waits for them to walk them to the door. I have a couple of them in harnesses and it takes extra time to get them off the bus.
Thank you Carter
Nancy Einhardt, Bus 6
Earlier this week, DK High School hosted an unannounced visit from Interquest Detection Canines in partnership with local law enforcement. This proactive measure is another step in our ongoing commitment to keeping our students, staff, and campus safe and maintaining a positive learning environment. I am pleased to share that no prohibited substances were found inside the school building. The canines did alert to a small number of vehicles in the parking lot. When this occurs, local law enforcement follows up to locate any items of concern, and any potential citations are handled by law enforcement. School consequences, if applicable, are addressed in accordance with our student handbook. We understand that seeing multiple police vehicles on campus can be alarming. Please know that these visits must be unannounced to be effective as a deterrent and are conducted with student safety as the top priority. We ask for your continued partnership by reminding your student to keep harmful and illegal substances off our campus. Our contract with this company is for multiple visits this school year, so they will be back as we continue to look for ways to keep your kids and our campus safe and healthy.
Don’t forget that Monday, January 19, is a PD day for teachers, so NO SCHOOL FOR KIDS.
