A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
I am happy to announce that ELA MCAS exams are complete with only a handful of makeups to do! I have to say I am so proud of how hard the students worked. They gave 110% effort and put their best work forward. We'll begin the Math portion of the exams in May. Thank you for all the support at home.
Just a couple of reminders:
- Spirit week kicks off tomorrow with Sports Jersey Day.
- This week, we will be collecting all Grade 1 and 2 Chromebook and Chargers. We'll be shifting to our in school model. Our EdTech team will be working on the project over the April break.
- Spring Running Club flyers went home on Friday, sign up today!
- Water Day is on Friday, April 17th for the 5th graders! It's a hands on science day where students team up with the North South River Watershed Alliance (NSRWA).
Thank you for all of your support,
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins
Principal

Panorama Spring Survey
This is a reminder that students will be participating in a Panorama survey again this Spring. The survey asks students to reflect on topics such as emotion regulation, social awareness, supportive relationships, feelings, and belonging, and takes about 20 minutes to complete. Since opt-out forms were collected in the Fall, no further action is needed unless your preference has changed. If you would now like your child to opt out, please complete this Google Form by Friday, April 17th.
School Spirit Week
Spirit Week is here
Monday: Sports Jersey Day
Tuesday: Dress like Royalty/Formal Day
Wednesday: Twin/Trio/Team Up Day
Thursday: Use any thing for a backpack day!
Friday: Students dress like staff/staff dress like the students Day
Lip Sync is Back...Don't Delay Sign Up Today!
What is Lip Sync? A group of students will pretend to sing and dance on stage in costume to a song. Music will be provided by each group.
Who can participate? Groups of Academy Avenue students. In the spirit of friendship and cooperation, please accept students into existing groups and discourage students from excluding anyone. Each group must have only one Adult contact. The Adult contact is responsible for coordinating the groups routine, practices, and keeping other parents/guardians informed.
Due to this event's popularity we need to limit the number of acts. We will close this form once we have 33 entries
Registration Deadline is Thursday, April 30th
Chromebook Update
Grade 1 & 2 Families: 1st & 2nd grade students will no longer be permitted to bring their Chromebooks home. This decision was made carefully and with student learning, device safety, and overall program sustainability in mind. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to protect our resources and maintain the best possible learning environment for students. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the main office. Starting tomorrow, please send devices in this week with their chargers are we will be shifting back to the in-school model.
