Parent Teacher Conferences
**** Sign-up Genius will be sent out TUESDAY, October 1ST at 9:00 am for parents to begin signing up.
It's conference time, a valuable opportunity to connect with your child's teacher and gain insights into their preschool experience this year while setting goals for their continued growth.
To accommodate your busy schedules, we're offering both in person and Zoom conference options. When selecting a conference time, please specify whether you prefer an in-person meeting or a Zoom call. If you choose a Zoom call, we will send you the meeting link the day before your conference. For in-person meetings, we'll meet you at the preschool playground doors, where we'll escort you to and from the conference room. Please avoid going to the office; we'll guide you through the preschool doors.
To ensure a smooth conference schedule, we kindly request that you make every effort to attend your in-person meeting. If you're unable to attend last minute send me an email, and I can set you up with a Zoom call. We aim to complete all conferences during this week without scheduling extensive makeup sessions. Please select a time that suits your availability.
Your child's teacher is eager to meet with each of you during your scheduled conference. We appreciate your active participation in your child's educational journey.
Picture Retakes
Photo retakes are exclusively scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th.
If you missed the initial photo day or need a retake, this is your final opportunity to have your child's school picture taken.
To ensure a smooth process, please begin by checking in at the office (Driver's License required for identification). Our staff will then guide you to the designated photo area to take your child.
For our T/TH group, please note that there will not be an additional day for photo retakes. If your child attends on T/TH, you will need to bring them to school during the photographer's hours from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To ensure a smooth process, please begin by checking in at the office (Driver's License required for identification). Our staff will then guide you to the designated photo area to take your child. If you are not able to come in on that day that is no worries, Mrs. Paulson will be taking your child’s picture for the yearbook when they are in attendance.
For children attending preschool on MWF, we will coordinate the photo session during their regular school hours. We have a list of the students that didn’t get their pictures taken. If for any reason you do NOT want your child to have their picture taken for the yearbook, please send me an email before picture day on the 9th.

In the Classrooms
Mrs. Hafner’s Teaching Moments
Social and Emotional Learning (Preschool 3's & Pre-K):
This week, we continued our focus on teamwork and sharing, emphasizing that while everyone may not be good at everything, everyone is good at something. Together, we make a stronger team! In our Pre-K classes, our stories centered around teamwork and the challenges that sometimes come with working in a team, especially when members aren't fully focused or working together. We discussed what it means to be a good team member, whether it's part of a sports team, in the classroom, or even at home.
Our 3’s class concentrated on the theme of sharing and how it feels when others don't share with us. We took turns using our little teapot wands while learning the rhyme, "I'm A Little Teapot." The children did an amazing job waiting their turn and sharing with their classmates, practicing these valuable life lessons!
STEM (Teamwork, (Pre-K):
This week, we took our activities outside and learned some fun team games! While practicing listening and following directions, the most important lesson was working together as teammates. It was a great way to strengthen our teamwork skills while staying active!
Mrs. Olson’s Busy Bee Teaching Moments
The Busy Bees have been learning all about their bodies and enjoyed reading My Amazing Body. They also explored the vibrant colors of fall and focused on the letter "Cc." Together, they practiced a directed drawing activity to create their own cupcakes.
In addition, the children learned the rhyme "Where Is Thumbkin?" and made their very own Thumbkin Patch. In math, they continued exploring ovals and circles, sorting and matching them to strengthen their shape recognition skills.
Mrs. Eframo’s Little Camper Teaching Moments
Mrs. Eframo’s Happy Camper Pre-K Teaching Moments
This week, our Happy Camper room was busy with fall-themed activities! We sponge-painted fall leaves and focused on the shapes circle and oval. In our CKLA unit "Our Growing Bodies," we discussed what babies do versus what preschoolers can do.
We also focused on the letter "Cc" and enjoyed reading If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, which inspired us to create a fun puff paint cupcake art project. Additionally, we explored the classic tale The Lion and the Mouse and made our very own camper-themed art projects!

Yes...Preschool Parents can come for Book Fair!
Book Fair will be held the week of Oct. 7th thru Oct. 10th the same week as Parent-Teacher conferences. We will post the times that parents can come with or without their children.
How to find Teacher Pages
Our Preschool Website can be found here.
It has wonderful information for parents and students. You can find lots of information on what is your student's daily schedule, the Curriculum we teach and information about our teachers.
We are actively updating the website so you have access to more information. So, visit often as we are continually updating the webpages each day.
BFA 13 Virtues
September's Virtues are...
Silence – There is a time and place to speak up and a time to listen. You learn more by listening than speaking.
Justice – Be respectful. Give everyone a chance to work or play. Give others a chance to express themselves. Share. Remember that others are counting on you, so live up to your duty.
BFA's Guiding Principles
Mission:
Our mission is to create young adults with character like America's founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged.
Vision:
Our students will excel academically through a challenging, sequenced curriculum that emphasizes math, science, the arts, and literacy. We will be a data-driven institution, focusing on individual students. Our students, teachers, parents, staff, and leaders will be held accountable for the success of our school. Finally, we recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering social emotional development, character, sports, and nature.
13 Virtues:
Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Purity and Humility.
