Picture Retakes
Picture Retakes will be Tue, Oct 27 in the morning. Please notify your child's teacher in advance if they need a retake or email Mary in the office. We are also looking for a couple of volunteers from 9:30-12 to help out with retakes. Jostens will provide volunteers with a $30 coupon off your picture package.
Order Your Yearbook
You can now order your 26-27 Yearbook. These will be distributed around the last week of school. We will have a very limited number available for sale! Yearbooks are still $15. Order forms/scholarship forms went home but the QR Code was for last year. The correct QR code is to the left of this article. To order on-line, click here.
Culture & Literacy Night
This Thursday is Culture & Literacy Night. We will be serving food from Tomatillo in the cafeteria, there will be lots of tables to visit in the gym, activities in the library, and much more! Hours are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. We will also have additional parking available in back by the playground. We hope to see you all there!

Looking for a job that fits your family's schedule? Valentine Hills is hiring a Nutrition Services employee and substitutes. Enjoy a part-time schedule with three- to six-hour shifts on Mondays through Fridays during the school year. Substitute pay starts at $18 per hour, while regular positions start at $20.02 per hour. Making Screen Time More Meaningful
When it comes to screen time for students in schools, educational leaders everywhere are asking some common questions.
- Is less screen time the only approach?
- How can schools improve the quality of screen time?
- Can screen time be justified if it has a meaningful impact on learning?
This fall, Mounds View Public Schools will consider these issues and more as it convenes a steering committee to provide recommendations to the School Board. Throughout the school year, the group will solicit community feedback and look at four main areas related to educational technology.
- Developing screen time usage guidelines
- Creating an AI usage framework
- Considering laptop and device monitoring tools
- Defining active and passive use of technology
Farm to School Thursdays
This Farm to School Thursday, students enjoyed locally-produced beef meatballs from Rancher’s Legacy and Minnesota-grown delicata squash. Meatballs provide protein to help build and maintain strong muscles, while delicata squash provides vitamin A to support healthy vision.
MCA Results are Now Available
For the second year, we will NOT be mailing Minnesota State Assessments Individual Student Reports to families. Instead, the Individual Student Report pdf for MCA, MTAS, and Alternate MCA have been added to the Documents Tab in Synergy. These documents are viewable to students, parents and teachers through their StudentVue, ParentVue, and TeacherVue accounts.
