ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE - GUILDING STRONG ROUTINES
- September is the perfect time to set consistent morning and bedtime routines that make school attendance a natural habit. Students who start the year strong are more likely to maintain excellent attendance all year long.
- Students who miss fewer than 5 days in the first semester are 3 times more likely to stay on track in reading and math.
- The late bell rings at 7:40 a.m. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.
- Please notify your child’s teacher when your student is absent. You will also need to send in a signed note or documentation from your doctor’s office when the student returns to school.
MORNING PROGRAM INFORMATION
Did you know your child gets to play in the gym in the mornings?
So, get them there at 7:10 to get play time! See below for the schedule.
STUDENT SUCCESS SKILLS
Student Success Skills (SSS) are Fulton County School's standards for the skills needed to demonstrate mastery of academic and interpersonal skills needed for college, career, and life success. These six skills are taught in all schools, by all teachers, to all students. Each skill has corresponding standards across grade levels.
As a parent, you can help your child with these skills on a weekly basis through the rethinkEd Home Connections. Each week the links will change with new ideas on how to help your child learn. Click on the links below to help your child learn how their brain works!

WHAT IS TITLE I?
Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and state academic assessments. The Title I program focuses on the academic needs of the most disadvantaged students.

Why You Should Listen to Your Child Reading Aloud - It happens in every classroom. A student raises their hand, asking for help answering a question about the passage they just read. “Read it out loud to me,” the teacher responds. The student reads a couple sentences and suddenly pauses. “I got it!” they exclaim. This is the power of a child reading aloud.

How to Help Your Child with LD Have a Happy Holiday - The holiday season is a time for family togetherness, community, and friendship when we enjoy parties and fun celebrations. Unfortunately, children who struggle with social and behavioral problems can feel lonely and excluded during this happy time.
How to Help Your Child with LD Have a Happy Holiday
THE NATIONAL PTA WEBSITE - The Parents’ Guides to Student Success were developed by teachers, parents, and education experts in response to the Common Core State Standards that more than 45 states have adopted. Guides for grades K-8 Schools are available in both English and Spanish. These grade level guides will let you know what your student is expected to know.
EJ STUDENTS TRY NEW FRUITS AND VEGGIES!
The Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program is a USDA federally funded grant providing all enrolled students in participating elementary schools with a variety of free fresh fruit and vegetables during the school day – separate from the lunch or breakfast meal. The goal of this program is to expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience in a healthy school environment, increase consumption of fruits and vegetables and to make a positive impact on the students' future health.
This week the kids tried:
Monday, October 27 - Sweet Tango Apple
Wednesday, October 29- Florida Oranges
Friday, October 31 - Orange Bell Pepper
