Important Reminders from the Dean Team
Campus Health Screening Procedures - Keeping our Campus Safe
- Completion of the OCSA Campus Visitor Health Screening Form - this form will ask questions like where you are going on campus, how long you will be there, as well as some health questions and acknowledgements of mask policies we have implemented in connection with the School Reopening Plan. This form is required to be completed DAILY for any OCSA employee who enters a campus building, and can be completed before you arrive on campus (recommend you save the link on your devices for easy access).
- Temperature Screening Station - OCSA has established two temperature screening stations for employees:
- Main/West Campus (Annex, Tower, Tech, Symphony Hall, DMS, VAC) staff going into buildings on the west side of Main Street should go to the Tower Breezeway for temperature screening before going to their building.
- East Campus (Center for the Arts, Foundation, Business) staff going into buildings on the east side of Main Street should check in at the Business Office before entering their destination.
- These stations will be staffed from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM to coincide with campus hours for staff.
- Upon submission of your DAILY health screening form and completion of your temperature screening, your fob/access code will be reactivated.
Why are we doing this?
These procedures are being implemented to ensure we can maintain a safe and healthy campus to the highest degree possible. In addition, the information submitted will help to ensure we clean areas of the campus, and maintain a list of staff and visitors to OCSA in the event of an emergency and for the purpose of contact tracing if a positive COVID-19 case occurs on campus.
My fob/access code is not working, what is going on?
At this time, all fobs have been set with an expiration date to ensure that staff coming to campus are screened before entering a building. After staff verifies that you have completed the form and do not present a temperature in excess of 100.4 degrees, your fob will be reactivated for the day.
Additionally, access permissions for staff has been changed to coincide with the adjusted campus hours of Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
What if I feel ill or have recently been exposed to COVID-19?
Staff members who are ill or have recent exposure to COVID-19 should not enter any campus buildings.
This seems like a lot of work, do I really have to do all these things?
Yes, we really have to do this each day as part of the School Reopening Plan. The form should take less than 2 minutes to complete, and the additional measures implemented will ensure all individuals who enter campus buildings have been screened before entry.
How long will this be in effect?
These procedures will be in place throughout distance learning. When OCSA returns to in-person learning or for more on-campus use, adjustments may be made to these procedures.
OCSA Campus Hours During Distance Learning
If you have elected to work on the OCSA campus during distance learning, please adhere to the campus hours below:
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- It is important that all employees depart the OCSA campus by 5:00 PM so OCSA custodial and security personnel can complete their cleaning and security procedures to close the campus each night.
- With 11 buildings and 350,000 square feet of space, the process takes nearly 2 hours to complete. Thank you for supporting them in completing their job duties.
