SHS Families,

January brings a fresh start and renewed energy as we begin the second half of the school year at Smithfield High School. With February right around the corner—and our seniors just five months away from graduation—it is an exciting and meaningful time for our entire school community. And after navigating what feels like all the snow already this winter, we are especially grateful for everyone’s flexibility, patience, and good humor as we keep learning moving forward—no matter what the forecast brings. ❄️

Here’s hoping the groundhog predicts an early spring!

Your very grateful, very cold principal 🧣

Ms. Ward

At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, which puts teams of high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. Through a series of online competition rounds, teams are given a set of virtual operating systems and are tasked with finding and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities while maintaining critical services.
