A message from the principal
Thank you!
Once again, I am blown away by the generosity of this school community! Thank you so much for all of your support during our PTO sponsored fundraiser. You all helped us crush our goal! Your donations are greatly appreciated and will be SO helpful to our students and teachers. Thank you! Thank you!
Pick up/Drop off reminders:
Parent drop-off/pick-up
Our parent drop-off and pick-up areas are located in the front of the building. Please access the drop-off lanes using 109th Avenue. Students must get out of cars on the curbside in front of the building (not on 109th). Students in grades 3-5 only are dropped off and picked up in front of Jackson Middle School. If you have students in multiple grade levels, please utilize the drop-off/pick-up ares for your youngest student. When in our drop-off loop, please remain in your cars and staff will help your students exit the vehicle. Our parking lots and drop-off line are very busy. Please be patient and very cautious with pedestrians.
Parking:
We know there have been some challenges with parking during the early weeks of the year. We have been working with the district office and Jackson Middle School to help alleviate some of the congestion in our lot. One minor change that will be coming is that staff will be required to display parking permits. If you are visiting for an extended time (ex: lunch, volunteering), we will be asking you to document your license plate number. This will help us monitor and manage our parking lot. When parking, please adhere to all signage and the directions of the school safety staff, and please refrain from parking in the bus loop. Thank you for your partnership in helping to keep our parking lot safe.
Conferences:
We are looking forward to meeting with you during conferences in a couple of weeks. As our conference schedules are very full, please be sure to arrive on time for your scheduled conference. Please visit www.myconferencetime.com/cbpa to view conference availability. If you need to cancel or try to reschedule on the day of, please call our office at (763) 506-6000.
School highlights
Recently our 2nd grade classes were able to visit Mississippi Gateway Regional Park (MGRP) for a lesson on erosion. With the help of the Naturalists our students conducted a couple short experiments right on the beach. Students then walked the shoreline to see examples of erosion and the methods the park district uses to slow it.
Our 5th grade students were able to work on harvesting and cleaning out all of our garden beds here at school. Soon those same students will be able to sample the salsa made from the gardens they planted last spring. “Husky Heat” will come in mild, medium & hot!
Kindergarten and 1st grade students will each have puppet shows next week put on by the Naturalists from MGRP. They will learn about some of the animals that call our area home and how they adapt to the changing seasons.
We have a lot more in store for our students after the new year. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to see examples of the student learning! https://www.facebook.com/CBPAMES

From the PTO
Thanks for all your support during our Husky Fun Run Fall Fundraiser, making it such a huge success! With less than $150 to raise before we hit our $35,000 STRETCH GOAL, I think it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing our principals on the roof during recess very soon!
Registrations and donations will officially close on mybooster.com this Friday, 10/16. But that still leaves a couple more days to get those last minute donations and finish earning classroom prizes!
The CBPA PTO will continue to fulfill all those amazing prizes after MEA break, plus Booster will be sending out the much anticipated Great Wolf Lodge Day Passes for any student who has registered on mybooster.com by this Friday!
Next week is a busy one, so mark your calendars, and make sure to check your student’s folders for event flyers and Fall Break Bingo! Have a great long weekend!
