Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on the following dates:

• November 20th: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• November 21st, 24th, and 25th: 1:25 PM – 2:50 PM

Conferences are a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. They allow us to celebrate student progress, discuss areas for growth, and collaborate on strategies for continued success. We look forward to connecting with you.

This year, we will be using Genesis to schedule conferences. The system allows you to:

✔ Easily schedule for multiple children

✔ Request translation services if needed

The scheduling portal will open on October 24th, with time slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Directions for how to sign-up can be found here:

Our school will be participating in survey data collection using the New Jersey School Climate Improvement (NJ SCI) Survey, which was developed, and is administered, by Rutgers University in order to help schools obtain multiple perspectives on aspects of school climate. Collecting data is important for understanding strengths and needs in our school and how it feels to be a member of the school community. The data will be used to make improvements to the school. This survey is anonymous and voluntary. A letter with instructions on how to take the parent and caregivers survey will be sent soon. Your voice is important to us and we hope you will participate.

School and district staff will be able to view responses from the survey on a password-protected online platform. Individual responses on the survey are combined for reporting purposes by group. For example, your answers on the survey will be combined with those of other parents. No one will have access to individual respondent’s answers.

The administration of the student survey will take place during the week of 11/10/25. Preview the items on the student survey(s) here: Students Grades 3-5 Survey; Students Grades 6-12 Survey. This is a chance for us to learn about your child’s opinions about the school, but your child does not have to participate in the survey.

If you have any questions, or would prefer that your child does not participate in the survey, please contact Nicole DiVenuta at nicole_divenuta@nplainfield.org by (11/3/2025) or fill out this brief form (https://forms.gle/koThqg6PyQi1CtRR7 ). If you do not respond, it will be deemed that you approve for your child to participate in the survey if your child chooses to participate.

As the fall season settles in, we're starting to see an uptick in seasonal allergies and common illnesses. While regular school attendance is important, your child's health—and the health of our entire school community—comes first.

To help prevent the spread of illness, please take a moment to review the chart below and keep your child home if they are showing any symptoms of a contagious condition.

If you're ever unsure about whether your child should stay home, feel free to reach out—I’m here to help and happy to talk things through.

The annual flu vaccine is required for all Pre-K students in New Jersey.

Given the high demand for flu vaccines this year due to the growing number of Pre-K programs, we strongly encourage you to schedule your child’s flu shot early to avoid delays.

Deadline: December 31, 2025
Students without proof of vaccination will not be permitted to return to school after this date until the vaccine has been received. We’re sharing this early to help you avoid any interruption in your child’s school attendance.
