LMHS Updates

The first week of school was done, and it was a great success! Hopefully all of our students felt the same way. Things went very smoothly over all. We had our first fire drill of the year on Thursday, and we held class meetings on Wednesday where students received information about what's new for this school year. During the class meetings, students were also given reminders about how lockdowns work at LMHS. We'll have a more detailed session about lockdowns with 7th grade students (and other students new to LMHS) in a couple weeks.

Open House at LMHS is scheduled for Thursday, September 18 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Our Open House is very informal, where parents/guardians can drop in to meet their student's teachers and find out a bit about their classes. Teachers will be available in their classrooms during that time; stop on by and drop in! If you don't have a copy of your student's schedule, staff will be available in the main office to print one for you that night. We hope to see you there!

Just a reminder that both dropoff and pickup should happen in the student parking lot. This keeps the driveway clear for buses, and keeps traffic running smoothly in all areas. It's especially important that no one parks in the driveway semicircle after 2:00pm for any reason, as the buses need access to that area to line up for dismissal time. Thanks for your cooperation!

Please be aware that school messages sent out through our Focus student information system have known issues being delivered to many Yahoo email accounts. This is an issue on Yahoo's end and we can't do much to alleviate it. (Note that this doesn't affect delivery of the LMHS Updates newsletter sent through the Smore platform.) You can try two things:

(1) Add this domain to your Yahoo email whitelist: focusmail.focus-sis.com

(2) If all else fails, you can create a Gmail account for yourself for school purposes, and set that account up to forward to your Yahoo email. Just be sure to let us know to change your email address in Focus to the new Gmail account.

Focus is our student information system, and all parents/guardians should make sure that they have a Focus account! This will allow you to keep track of your student's grades, attendance, discipline, and more! If you don't have a focus account and need help creating one, please email focus@leepublicschools.net and we'll give you a hand. You can also email if you forgot your password or are having any issues accessing Focus.

On the first day of school, all students received a packet of forms to bring home and have filled out and signed. If you haven't yet, please be sure to have your student bring those forms back to school to turn in!

Picture Day for all students is Wednesday, September 3! All students should get their photos taken for student IDs. Picture order forms were sent home with students in the first day packet. Your student can bring the form to the photographer on Wednesday, or you can order online!
