We wish our entire Conejo community a wonderful and safe Spring Break!
With a pre-registration complete, as soon as future voters turn 18, at the time of the election, they can cast a ballot to vote. California High School Voter Education Weeks are: September 16-27, 2024 and April 14-25, 2025 - making now a great time to take advantage of the Pre-Register to Vote opportunity offered by the state of California!
Monday, April 21 - Friday, April 25, 2025 is Public School Volunteer Week, a time to honor Public School Volunteers for their partnership with our district and schools, and for the positive impact they have on student learning and achievement.
Public School Volunteer Week is held annually during the third week of April and serves as a time to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers in public education. Volunteers play a critical role in supporting the success of our students, teachers, support staff, and schools, while also promoting the importance of volunteering and community involvement.
The theme for this year's Public School Volunteer Week is "Connecting Communities" recognizing the impact volunteers have in building inclusive and flourishing communities. It also explores how volunteering creates lasting relationships that enrich lives.
We are proud to celebrate and honor the invaluable contributions of our community of volunteers this week, and all year through! Click here to learn more.
Things kick-off with a Welcome in the Gym at 5:30pm, followed by the opportunity to attend three different career speakers' presentations - with Session 1 taking place at 6pm, Session 2 taking place at 6:30pm and Session 3 taking place at 7pm. Speakers will include individuals from the following fields: medical: nursing, automotive, culinary, entrepreneurship, athletics, engineering, firefighting, cosmetology, law enforcement, real estate, zoology, marketing, aviation, entertainment, tv/film, psychiatry, law, and author/illustration.
This event will provide students with a fantastic opportunity to deepen their understanding of a field they are passionate about by learning from a seasoned professional in the industry. See the event flyer here - and below.

With spring break ahead, and summer arriving soon thereafter, the Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to share important information regarding Electric Bicycles / Electric Motorcycles with our community.
These vehicles have grown in popularity and use, and TOPD encourages all families to review the safety regulations and rules for electric bicycles and motorcycles, especially for families who own or may be considering buying one for their child(ren).
Rules and regulations for these vehicles vary, and for the safety of all in the Conejo community, please closely review the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office E-Bicycle/Motorcycle Enforcement Guide.
We're proud to share that the Conejo Valley Unified School District is one of 19 school districts in the state, and the only school district in Ventura County, to earn the 2025 Model School Attendance Review Board Recipient distinction!
The District received this recognition from the California Department of Education for exemplary practices that have contributed to reducing chronic absenteeism rates and improving student attendance. Congratulations to all of our school communities on their commitment to students showing up, staying present, and being ready to learn, together! Click here to learn more.
NPHS Hosts Unified Events with Inclusive Activities and Fun at Maple and Banyan
There is no party, like a Unified Party! Last week, our Newbury Park High School's Unified Panthers hosted a morning of fun, collaborative activities at Maple Elementary School followed by an epic dance party. All 3rd-5th grade Mustangs participated, which provided them with the opportunity to connect with their high school peers who led the activities in four different stations. Activities included: Parachute Games, a Relay Race Pyramid, Pipeline Relay and Hula Hoop Ring.
In the afternoon, the Panthers traveled to Banyan Elementary School to continue the day of meaningful, engaging activities with the Bobcats community. Way to go, Panthers!
Acacia Magnet 5th Graders Raise $1,500 to Support the BumbleBee Foundation
On Friday, 5th grade students from Acacia Magnet School for Enriched Learning proudly presented a check totaling more than $1,500 to a representative from the BumbleBee Foundation.
The mission of the BumbleBee Foundation is to inspire hope and faith by providing support to the overall well-being of pediatric cancer families. The students chose to support the BumbleBee Foundation to honor the memory of a former Acacia Magnet School student, whose mom and sister attended the check donation ceremony.
Students raised the funds by decorating coin jars that were placed in every classroom at the school, and incentivized their peers to bring in change by awarding prizes to the classes who raised the most funds. Additionally, they hosted a Student Store where they sold items like pencils and erasers, with 100% of the profits benefitting their fundraiser.
Thank you to our Cubs community for showcasing your big hearts, commitment to kindness and for working together to raise money today that will change lives tomorrow!
