We’re Ready to Welcome Our Falcons Back!
Hello Riverview Families,
In just a few short days, we will be welcoming our students back through the doors of Riverview, and we couldn’t be more excited! There is such a wonderful energy in our building as we get closer to the first day of school.
Our staff has spent this week learning, planning, preparing, collaborating, and putting the finishing touches on classrooms to make sure we are ready for an amazing year. More importantly, we have spent time thinking about how we can create the very best experiences for our students—places where they feel known, supported, challenged, and excited to learn. Now, we are ready for the most important part…our students!
I hope to see all of our families at Back-to-School Night on Monday, August 17. It is always one of my favorite evenings because our building comes alive again with students and families filling the hallways, reconnecting with staff, meeting teachers, and getting excited about the year ahead.
Enjoy these last few days of summer together. The classrooms are ready, our staff is ready, and the excitement is definitely here! We can’t wait to welcome our Falcons home. Let’s make it an amazing year to SOAR!

Arrival/Dismissal
Safety First!
At Riverview, the safety of our Falcons is always our top priority! Please review the arrival and dismissal map below so you know the correct route and procedures for your family.
To help keep our car lines safe and moving efficiently, please stay in line, do not pass other vehicles, and remain in your car while in the pickup line. Riverview staff will be outside each day supervising students and helping with arrival and dismissal.
Helpful Tip: During dismissal, please have your student’s name clearly written on a folder, piece of paper, or sign and displayed where staff can easily see it. This helps us identify your student quickly and keeps the pickup line moving smoothly.
Thank you for your patience and partnership—especially during the first few days as everyone learns the routine. Together, we can make arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for all!
Visitor Management System
Student and staff safety is always our top priority. Riverview will continue using the Visitu Visitor Management System this year, following district safety guidelines. All visitors must check in through the office with a valid photo ID. The ID will be scanned into the system and a visitor sticker with your photo will be printed. This sticker must be worn and visible at all times while in the building.
For the safety of everyone, no visitor will be allowed in the building without a valid ID. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to maintain a secure learning environment for our Falcons.
Our Little Library
Our Riverview Little Library is now ready for families to take a book or share a book! A special thank-you goes to last year’s 5th grade classes, who donated The Little Library to Riverview as a way to encourage a love of reading and give our students and families a place to share books.
How does it work? It’s simple!
- 📚 Take a Book: Find a book you’d like to read and take it home.
- ❤️ Share a Book: Have gently used books your family has finished? Bring them to The Little Library for someone else to enjoy.
- 🔄 Keep It Going: There’s no need to return the exact book you take. The idea is to keep books moving and sharing the joy of reading throughout our Riverview community!
Take a book. Share a book. Spread the love of reading! ❤️📚

📵 New State Law: Personal Electronic Devices at School
Beginning this school year, a new Kansas law prohibits students from using or accessing personal electronic devices during the school day while on school property. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, wireless earbuds, smart glasses, and similar devices. Devices should be powered off and put away from the start of the school day until dismissal.
Please help us by discussing this new expectation with your child before school begins. Students may always use a school phone if they need to contact a parent during the day. Families should also be aware that USD 232 is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal devices brought to school.
Thank you for partnering with us as we implement this new state requirement and continue to provide a focused, distraction-free learning environment for all students.
