Week 30 (March 31 - April 4)
Dear World Class Parents/Guardians,
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each of you for your incredible support throughout the month of March during the HORNET HUSTLE. If you have not had a chance to donate yet, there is still time as we are at 98% of our goal. Donate HERE.to assist us in achieving our goal of100%, The SPRING Online Auction givebutter.com/HESSpring2025 is open until tomorrow, Monday, March 31st. Your dedication continues to make a lasting and positive impact on our school community, and we are truly grateful for everything you do to help us succeed.
A huge thank you to the HES Foundation for their generous support in funding the new installment of our mural. Your commitment to enriching our school environment and inspiring creativity is truly appreciated. This beautiful addition not only enhances our campus but also serves as a vibrant reminder of the power of community and collaboration. Thank you for making a lasting impact on our students and the entire Hawthorne family!
At Hawthorne ES, we believe in a strong partnership between home and school, in order to provide the best opportunity for student success. Thank you to all the parents of our fifth, fourth, and third grade students who attended last week’s parent/teacher conferences. We appreciate your engagement and support. Our conferences continue this week, with kindergarten conferences scheduled for Monday, March 31 and second grade conferences on Tuesday, April 1. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress and partnering with you to support their academic journey.

Thank you to all the parents who participated in Career Day! Your involvement and support made the event a great success, and we truly appreciate your contribution. We hope you feel as amazing as you truly are!
A huge thank you to Mrs. Denson and all instructional staff for your exceptional dedication and hard work throughout MAP testing. Your commitment to ensuring a smooth testing process does not go unnoticed, and I deeply appreciate the effort you’ve put in to support our students’ success.
Thank you to the PBIS Committee for facilitating a hot chocolate & popcorn party on Friday for students and for establishing multiple ways for students to earn incentives.
Our Reading Challenge is off to an amazing start! Our students have already logged over 70,000 minutes of reading. These programs are vital to our children’s success, and your continued involvement is key to their success.
As we continue to move forward, I want to emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful campus. Please remind your children that we are committed to providing excellent opportunities, but this can only be done when positive behavior is upheld at all times. We've made great strides, but we must stay vigilant—especially during carpool hours. Kindly follow staff instructions during AM and PM carpool to ensure everyone’s safety.
Lastly, I want to highlight the crucial role of consistent student attendance in academic success. We are committed to ensuring that every child arrives on time and attends school regularly. Our goal this year is for no student to miss more than 18 days of school. We’re aiming for a 95% attendance rate this year—up from 93% last year—and your support is key to making this happen. Consistent attendance is the foundation of providing the best education possible for every student.
Once again, thank you for your support. It’s an honor to partner with each of you in educating and nurturing your children. Let’s keep up the fantastic work and continue this momentum forward!
Let’s make this week count—on purpose as we continue to Go for G.O.L.D - Growing Our Learners Daily!
Proud to Serve,
-Principal Henley
