June 6, 2025

Dear Mary Hogan Families,

This week was packed with so many awesome events that it is hard to know where to start, other than at the beginning! We started out the week with Field Day. The fields may have been a little soggy from the weekend's rain (again!) but the sun was shining and we just loved being outside and together for fun and lunch. This day would not have been possible without the support and organization of so many people, but most especially Casey McDonough, whose vision for Field Day three years ago started this new tradition. Thank you also to the many, many volunteers who helped us have fun ALL DAY LONG! This newsletter is full of joyful Field Day photos.

Other special things this week included:

  • Preschool had Bike Day and hosted its last playgroup of the year
  • Kindergarten was out an about all over town and had their last yoga class
  • 1st grade heading to Button Bay State Park
  • 2nd grade heading to Branbury State Park
  • 3rd grade heading to Crown Point and the suspension bridge over Lake Champlain
  • 4th grade shared their research on inventions they had been researching
  • 5th grade went to the movies
  • Our school celebrated the MUHS graduates on Friday as they marched by

There was so much more. Thank you to everyone who made these special events - and the regular ones happen! Only 6 more days of fun together!

💙, Jen

A Note About 6/16

We do have school all the way through Monday 6/16, which will be a super fun day for everyone here at Mary Hogan and a way to celebrate the end of the year. We have an 18 hole mini golf course thanks to MESA and our Student Council (with the help of Miss Julie) is putting on a Talent Show. There will be lots for students to do during the day. It is an important day of school and allows all students to end the year together.

Band and Chorus Concert Band and Chorus Concert

We were delighted by our Mary Hogan Band and Chorus on Thursday, as they showed us all of the new songs they learned since February. Some of the songs were ones people knew and some were new to us. We loved them all.

MUMS music teacher and Mary Hogan parent Richard Sherman took a video of the concert and shared it with us. I am hoping to share his videos next week.
