Strong Foundations, Soaring Futures Strong Foundations, Soaring Futures

This school year, we're launching Strong Foundations, Soaring Futures, a districtwide initiative that builds on our district's traditions of personalized learning and preparing all students for lifelong success. All HSD schools are focused on creating campuses and classrooms where every student belongs, grows, and is supported at school and home to realize their full potential. Always Learning: HSD's Teachers & Paraprofessionals Prepare to Maximize Student Learning

As they do every August, Hockinson's teachers and staff reported for their first of three state-funded Learning Improvement Days (LIDs) last week. LIDs provide educators with programming focused on improving student safety and learning. Pictured are educators at a session on supporting positive student behaviors led by presenter James Moffett. In addition to the districtwide LIDs, orientation days at HHS and HMS and the community fair at HHES helped students feel welcome and prepared for the new school year.

Our students received a warm welcome to the 2026-27 school year. Staff and Buzz the Hornet were on hand to assist students at HHES, whereas the HMS and HHS Bands and HHS cheerleaders helped to set a positive tone at the annual Red Carpet Welcome at our secondary campuses. All of these activities shared the same message: The future is bright for Hockinson students!

So much awaits all of our TK-12 students - from new curricula and learning materials to tech platforms to extracurricular opportunities such as band, athletics, and clubs. All of these levy-funded experiences enrich our academic programs and develop skill sets that will prepare our students for employment, enlistment in the armed services, or enrollment in post-secondary educational programs.
