Q&A and Comments Section Q&A and Comments Section

Questions:

1. When are evaluations done for special education students?

If a student presents significant difficulties in learning, language, behavior, development, or other areas, the school can initiate the referral process for an evaluation. It is recommended to do this as soon as possible.

2. When do students begin to explore the CTE program?

It is recommended to introduce the topic in 5th or 6th grade and offer a more specific session for parents of 7th and 8th grade students before they select their high school courses. Students begin learning about the program in elementary school, and in 8th grade, they are introduced to the programs offered at high school.

3. Are CTE classes (credits) transferable to college?

Yes, some CTE classes can be transferred to a university (college), but not all. It depends on the course and the program. CTE classes taken at EPCC are not transferable. Western Tech does not transfer classes to EPCC or UTEP, as it is a technical school
