Welcome to another great week Unicorn Families!

Thank you to those that attended our Annual Title 1 Meeting and Open House. We hope that you were able to obtain valuable information to support your student. If you were unable to attend, please find the link to the notification and presentation below. If you have questions around our Title 1 grant, please reach out to Ms. Bohannon, our Title 1 Liaison.

This week, we will continue with PM1 testing. This is where we examine learning loss/ready for instruction in the new grade level. Please encourage your student to do their personal best and show what the know on their testing day. I highly encourage you to schedule a conference after PM1 testing data is in. Our schoolwide conference night is scheduled for October 29th, but you don't have to wait until then to schedule a conference with your child's teacher.

Friday is Spirit Day! Please be sure that your student wears their House shirt/color. In addition, Friday is our First Friday Family Lunch Day/Parent University. New World's Reading will be on campus for Parent University for resources to help your child build their at home library. Please be sure to stop by their table for this information.

Parents, please be reminded that if you are dropping off or picking your student up by car, the car circle is the safest place for that exchange. We are still seeing a few students dropped in the street or students running to cars at the instruction of an adult. This is extremely unsafe. We ask that parents please use the car circle if dropping their students off or picking them up in a car. No walk-up will be permitted at the car circle.

Thank you to those that supported our Book Fair. We were just $300 short of our goal. We appreciate all that you do to support literacy achievement for our students.

Parents, please remember that our pantry is now open daily from 9:15 - 10:15. You can also make an appointment with Ms. McCrea, if that time doesn't work for you.

We still have 1st day packet forms that have not been returned. Please be sure to get that information in as soon as possible. In addition, please complete the free/reduced lunch application regardless of you providing lunch or not for your child. There are many programs that could be offered to our school based on the percentage of students that qualify or not. Please help us take advantage of all supports by completing your free/reduced lunch application at www.myschoolapps.com. (link found below).

Thank you for your continued support of a magical school year!

Magically yours,

Principal Dixon

  • Afternoon dismissal begins at 2:55. Please be sure that you make the necessary arrangements for your student to be picked up on time. After 3:15, students must be signed out in the front office.
  • Parents, please don't surround the walkers gate at dismissal, eliminating a safe walking space for our walkers. If you are waiting to walk with your student, we ask that you wait on the sidewalk away from the entry/exit. Thank you for keeping this gate clear to exit.
  • Fridays are House Spirit Days! We encourage students to wear their house shirts/colors on Fridays to show their house spirit. Students wearing their house shirt/color on Fridays will receive an extra house point.
  • Student agendas will be used in grades K-5. Please make it a habit to check/sign (initial) your child’s agenda each day.
  • Our school website will be another communication tool, again this year. Each week, we will post the Parent Weekly Rainbow and other pertinent information on our website. Please plan on remaining informed by visiting our website frequently.

  • All parents entering our campus must possess a valid, acceptable form of ID. No exceptions
  • All visitors must enter through the front office when visiting our campus.
  • For the safety of all, we ask that you please use the identified crosswalks when coming on campus. Please DO NOT walk through the car circle during arrival/dismissal. Thank you for helping us keep you safe.
  • School starts promptly at 8:45. Please ensure that your child arrives in a timely manner to arrive to class on time.
  • Please encourage your students to keep our campus safe by reporting anything that they see or hear that can jeopardize the safety of our campus. Thank you for your support of keeping out campus safe.

Ms. McCrea, our Family Community Liaison, is the point of contact for all volunteering opportunities. She can be reached at 727-893-1815 or Mccreaz@pcsb.org. All volunteers must be registered and Level II cleared. Level II volunteers must always have their Level II badge and their driving license when arriving on campus. If you would like to become a registered volunteer, please go ahead and get this process started. It takes about 2-3 weeks to become a registered volunteer.

If an excuse note is provided, please send it in with your student upon their return.
