We’re already halfway through October, and there’s lots happening at Crestview! Fall conferences are taking place this week, and the Scholastic Book Fair will be open in our library. We also have more fun fall festivities to look forward to! Be sure to check the dates below so you don’t miss out on all the exciting things happening at Crestview. We hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Please remember to report your child’s absence within 5 school days. Timely reporting helps ensure your child’s attendance record is accurate. Thank you for helping us keep our records up to date!

Conferences begin Monday, October 19th through October 27th.

We’re looking for parent volunteers to help make our Scholastic Book Fair a success! Sign up to lend a hand and support our amazing librarian, Ms. Tatiana, during this exciting week!

Make shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair easy by setting up an eWallet for your child! It’s a convenient, cash-free way for students to shop for their favorite books. Set up your child’s eWallet before the fair so they’re ready to shop!

We still need volunteers to help make our Trunk-or-Treat a success! We’re looking for families to help with trunks, event crew, set-up, and clean-up. If you can help, please click the link below to sign up. We’d love to have you join us!

To help keep our Trunk or Treat fun and safe for everyone, no weapons or excessive blood/gore, please. Masks must allow children to see clearly and safely while participating in the Trunk or Treat. Thank you for helping us create a fun, family-friendly event for all our Crestview Cougars!

Our Candy Monster is ready for the Trunk or Treat, but he’s still hungry for candy! 🍭 We are still accepting candy donations to help make this event extra sweet. Please drop off donations in the candy box outside the school or bring them to the office. Thank you for helping feed our hungry monster!

President’s Corner

Happy Sunday, Cougar Families!

October has been a busy and wonderful month at Crestview! From celebrating our students at the Ice Cream & Pajama Party to recognizing our amazing custodian, Junior, we’ve had so many opportunities to come together as a community.

We also celebrated another Fri-Yay this past week, treating our incredible teachers and staff to a root beer and soda float bar! It’s always a pleasure to show our appreciation for everything they do for our students.

Trunk or Treat is THIS FRIDAY!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone Friday, October 23, from 5:30–7:00 PM! Our Candy Monster is still hungry, so keep those candy donations coming! And if you’d like to volunteer, there’s still time to sign up.

Healthy Living Week Is Coming!

We’ll be wrapping up October with Healthy Living Week during the last week of the month! It’s a wonderful opportunity to encourage healthy habits and wellness throughout our school community. Keep an eye out for more information about the week’s activities!

*For the safety and well-being of all students, please be reminded that students may not carry medication at any time. School office personnel are not permitted to dispense any medication without a doctor’s note. This includes both prescription medications and over-the-counter items such as aspirin, cough drops, skin creams, and similar products. If your child requires medication during school hours and a doctor’s note has not been provided, a parent or guardian must come to the office to administer the medication to their child.

*Neighborhood Parking Reminder: As a reminder, please park responsibly during drop-off and pick-up. Keep driveways and mailboxes clear and avoid blocking access for our neighbors. Thank you for your cooperation!

*To help keep our classrooms focused and free from distractions, we ask that students do not bring toys to school. This includes items such as fidgets, squishies, stuffed animals, and similar objects. These items can easily become lost, damaged, or disruptive during the school day. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a positive learning environment!

*Positive attendance plays a key role in your child’s academic success and helps them stay connected to learning each day. We appreciate your support in ensuring your child arrives at school on time and attends regularly. Please note that once a student reaches 12 absences, a doctor’s note will be required in order for any additional absences to be excused. If an absence is reported by a parent but a doctor’s note is not provided, it will still be recorded in Aeries; however, it will remain marked as unexcused until documentation is received.
