Follow Up: ApplyTexas Free Application Week

If you applied using ApplyTexas during Free Application Week (or any other time), you need to ensure that you add your applications manually to SchooLInks. Log in to your College Applications Portal and click on the blue "Add Application" button, then follow the prompts. I will send your transcripts when once your applications are updated.

Please note that if you started an application in Common App, you will need to remove it from CA before you can add that college manually to SchooLinks.

Once they're added in SchooLinks, you can also request your letters of recommendation using SchooLinks. Please note that you should have asked your teachers' permission before adding the request in SchooLinks.

You will receive your applicant portal login information from your schools in 10 days or less; please note that you may still see a fee or payment instructions posted in your portals, but eligible applicants won’t have to pay for any applications submitted during Free week. Just be patient and that requirement will disappear once the colleges reconcile.

The Ridge Point College and Career Readiness Center prepares our nearly 3000 students for college, trade school, military or employment. Students and parents are encouraged to visit the CCR Center in room K145 or reach out to me via email or my website. Susanna Jakubik, College and Career Readiness Advisor

PSAT Reminders for Sophomores and Juniors

Sophomores and juniors will both be taking the PSAT next week during the school day; sophomores will be testing on Thursday, October 29 and juniors on Tuesday, October 27. Please see the reminders below from RPHS Testing Coordinator Missy Rogers; please reach out to her via email if you have any questions.

  • There is no late testing so make sure you are on time.
  • No make up testing is available.
  • AM Reese students who are scheduled to test should report to Ridge Point on test day.
  • Check your school email for room assignments and other important PSAT info.
  • Open the Bluebook app to allow it to update.
  • Restart your computer to allow any other updates to run.
  • Make sure your computer is running Windows 11. Look for the OS version in the lower right corner of the desktop. It should be 24H2 or higher. If it says 23H2 or lower, it’s running Windows 10 and Bluebook won’t work. You will need to visit N203 for assistance in updating before test day.
  • Bring your FULLY CHARGED school laptop AND charger.
  • Go to N203 for any tech issues before test day.
  • Anyone not testing will follow their regular schedule.

Attending a Texas public school or want an off period?

All students attending a Texas public school need to demonstrate college readiness before they will be allowed to enroll and select their college classes (which is different than applying or getting admitted). Colleges determine this via the following test scores:

SAT: 530+ on Math, 480+ on English

ACT: 22+ on Math, 40+ on Reading and Writing

TSI: 950+ on Math, 945+ on Reading, 5+ on Essay

Students can use a combination of these to demonstrate readiness (i.e., their SAT Math score+ their TSI English/essay score). In addition, students who meet these benchmarks also earn their CCMR point, which benefits them with an honor cord to wear at graduation plus the ability to earn an off campus or office aide period their senior year.

Current seniors who do not have their CCMR point but earn it before December 18 can have a schedule change for the spring semester to include an off period, provided it works with their schedule and graduation requirements.

RPHS will be offering the TSI free of charge to any junior or senior on November 19, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. Students can register here as long as there is space and can use these various options for test prep.
