A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we adjusted Wednesday’s schedule to ensure our students got home safely. We appreciate the efforts that this may have required from our families.
As we approach the third trimester, we begin the process of making class placement decisions for the upcoming school year. To ensure we have a well-rounded understanding of each student, we invite families to share any additional information about their child that may not already be known—particularly insights into their learning style or other relevant considerations. If you have information you would like to add, please complete this form. We will review family input alongside teacher observations and recommendations as we make placement decisions.
The deadline for submissions is February 28. While we will do our best to consider all input, forms submitted after this date may or may not be included, depending on where we are in the process.
Thank you for your partnership and support!
With gratitude,
Beth Carmody
Kindergarten students are diving into digital storytelling in Technology class! They are using the app Draw & Tell to move stickers and record their voices to bring their stories to life. They are also exploring Superhero Comic Book Maker to create and tell longer stories. By the end of this unit, students will learn how to create digital stories, choose the right drawing tools, and record their voices. They’ll also discover how technology can be used for creative projects and sharing information.

Parent University Review - A Guide for Parents to Lead with Love & Boundaries
On February 4, we were fortunate to welcome Jennifer McAdams from Simply Bee Counseling for a Parent University presentation at Fremont Middle School. In her presentation, she discussed how to support kids through emotional validation, compassion, and positive boundaries. If you were unable to attend the presentation, or would like to view it again, it will be available through February 19 via the district's YouTube page.
Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 6th
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for March 6th (the MAP 1-2 class will have an additional conference day on March 5th), and we will be using an online scheduling system for parents to sign up. This is the same system we used in the Fall. The conference links will be open from Wednesday, February 19th at 7 p.m. thru Tuesday, February 25th at 7 p.m. Additional details were shared via email on February 12th (attached below). Please email your homeroom teacher for specific questions regarding conferences. For any additional questions, please email cjohnson@fsd79.org.
Student Pick-Up/Drop Off
If you plan to pick up your child early or at dismissal please call or email Aura Perez at aperezcruces@fsd79.org and email your child's homeroom teacher prior to 2:45 p.m (on Wednesdays by 2:15 p.m.) Please note in order to pick up your child from the front office you must do so by 3:00 p.m. (on Wednesdays by 2:30 p.m.) If you need the family sign to display in your car window at parent pick up please let Mrs. Perez Cruces know and we will send one home with your youngest student. Please refer to our Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for our specific guidelines.
A friendly reminder about our drop off and pick up line ...
- Please stay in your car when dropping off or picking up your student(s).
- Please do not park in the parking lot and send your student(s) to the school. Stay in the drop-off line.
- Please pull all the way forward in line when dropping off and picking up. Students exit the car on the sidewalk only.
- If you arrive at school after 8:55 am, you must come into the school to sign your student in. Doors close at 8:55 am.
Student Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.
School Lunches
We are going to be phasing out ice cream for sale at the Elementary School. We will begin the phase out by only offering on Fridays. Ice cream is only available to our first and second graders.
