A Note from Mrs. Mathe
We’ve had another great week at Hines, even though it was a short one with only four days! Our students continue to work hard and make us proud each day.
Believe it or not, it’s already time for Fall Picture Day next week — even if it doesn’t quite feel like fall outside yet! Students will have their individual pictures taken in the morning. Ordering information can be found below, and remember, all students will take a picture for the yearbook, even if you choose not to order prints. If your child happens to miss this day, make-up pictures will be offered in November.
Hines Fall Individual Pictures
Picture Day is FRIDAY 09/12/2025, mark your calendar! Order before Picture Day to receive free shipping to the school. Ordering online is easy, visit https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/0074BMF.
Friday Highlight Video
Every week, Mrs. Halbrook, one of our 4th grade teachers, compiles the pictures taken on campus in a highlight video. The students look forward to watching it each week and seeing themself on the big screen! Click below to view this week's video.https://animoto.com/play/bzcoXeNj6pEG3j9eaqZOjA
Student Spotlight
We are excited to introduce a new section in The Hines Herald called Student Spotlight! This feature will celebrate the amazing achievements, acts of kindness, and positive contributions of our Huskies both inside and outside of school. In this section, we will highlight students who have gone above and beyond—whether it’s reaching a personal goal, helping others, or making a difference in the community. We can’t wait to share these inspiring stories and honor the incredible ways our students shine!
HINES SHINES
We are excited to launch a new section in our newsletter, Hines Shines, where we celebrate students who go above and beyond in showing kindness, leadership, hard work, and exceptional behavior and exemplifying our Husky HOWL. These shining stars make Hines a better place every day, and we can’t wait to recognize their amazing contributions!

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
The Pavilion’s Hats Off to Reading annual celebration will take place Wednesday, September 24 at the Pavilion Event Center. This year's theme is See You at the Movies!
In partnership with Conroe Independent School District, the FREE and festive literacy event begins at 5:30 p.m. and encourages early reading by offering various literacy-based activities such as games, making reading pointers, storytelling time and so much more. Children also have the opportunity to choose and take home a FREE book!
The Houston Symphony will perform after the event. Tickets are not required for this completely free event and gates open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show.
Overview of School Discipline
The Texas Education Agency has recently updated state laws related to school discipline for the 2025–2026 school year. These changes affect areas such as suspensions, removals from class, and parent notification requirements. Our school will continue to follow all updated guidelines to ensure student safety and learning.
Senate Bill 10
The State of Texas passed Senate Bill 10 that requires the posting of the 10 Commandments in all classrooms. Even though lawsuits have been filed regarding the posting and an injunction has been issued for specific school districts we are required by law to post them. As of September 2, our classrooms will comply with law and have the 10 Commandments posted in all classrooms. We understand that this is a controversial topic for many. Please know that the teacher, school and district have no opinion on this topic. It is a law passed by the Texas 89th Legislature and signed by the Governor and we are required to comply. Thank you for your understanding.
Introducing SEPAC – A New Parent Advisory Group for Special Education
We’re excited to introduce the Conroe ISD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC), a new parent-led group created in collaboration with the CISD Special Education Department. SEPAC is here to connect, support, and empower families of students with IEPs or 504s. SEPAC is focused on building stronger partnerships between families and our district's special education services.
