Low Ash PrimaryWeekly round up

13.2.26 13.2.26

I can't believe we have reached the end of another half term. Thank you for all of your support these last few weeks. Unlike last year, we have got through January (and most of February by the time we return) without snow causing any disruption!

For those of you who came to your child's classroom at the end of the day today, we hope you enjoyed your visit.

Finally, this is a gentle reminder that when taking photos/videos in assemblies or other school events they should not be shared on social media.

Golden Learners Golden Learners

A big well done to this half term's Golden Learners who have consistently shown positive learning behaviours.

FOLA Valentine Film Night FOLA Valentine Film Night

Over 200 pupils attended the Valentine film night last night organised by FOLA and Miss Briggs. I am not sure whether the children enjoyed the film or queuing for the toilet more! Thank you to everyone who supported this school fundraising event and being so patient standing in the pouring rain while we signed your children out.

Woodwork Club Woodwork Club

The children in the woodworking club did an amazing job! They used basic woodworking skills like measuring, sawing, sanding, and joining pieces of wood together. They worked carefully and kept trying even when things were tricky. By the end, they had created a fantastic vehicle that could really move!

A reminder that, if children have pierced ears, then only small stud type earrings are acceptable. These should be removed for PE; if your child cannot remove their own earrings, please make sure they do not wear them on PE days. Long hair should be tied back with suitable hair accessories.

School car park School car park

A reminder that, unless you have a school car park pass, you will not be able to enter the staff school car park after half term. We have introduced this as, even though the car park has always been for staff only, an increasing number of parents and carers (and taxis!) have started coming into the car park. This led to a 'near miss' the other week which means we have a legal duty to put additional measures in place.

The car park gates will be manned by member(s) of staff. Thank you for your support in this.

Safer Internet Day 2026 Safer Internet Day 2026

Safer Internet Day was a brilliant success this year. All children across the school got stuck into a digital day, exploring ways to be safe online and through the use of AI. They enjoyed a live lesson from Tech She Can and BBC Bitesize as well as taking part in different online safety activities throughout the day. Our team of digital leaders did a fantastic job too as they read an online safety story to Nursery and Reception classes as well as leading their very own online safety assembly.

Healthy School Snacks Please! Healthy School Snacks Please!

To help pupils stay focused, energised and ready to learn throughout the day, we welcome children bringing in healthy snacks for morning break. Choosing nutritious options supports their concentration, wellbeing and long‑term habits. Suitable snacks include fresh fruit, vegetable sticks, raisins, plain rice cakes, breadsticks, yoghurt tubes, or a small portion of cheese. Sweets, chocolate bars, crisps and sugary drinks are not allowed so that we can maintain a healthy school environment for everyone. A reminder also that we are a nut free school.

World Thinking Day World Thinking Day

A reminder that on Tuesday 24th February, Girlguiding members (Rainbows, Brownies and Guides) are allowed to wear their club uniform to school in celebration of World Thinking Day. This day has been chosen by Girlguiding Bradford North as it aligns with the Bradford North celebrations which will take place after school for their members.

World Thinking Day is a global event held annually by millions of Girlguiding members around the world. It' s a day to learn about girls and young women in other countries, and take action to make the world a better place. 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the very first Thinking Day. Wearing their uniforms on World Thinking Day allows girls to proudly demonstrate their membership in Girlguiding and show their commitment to its values of friendship, respect, and caring for others. It also creates a visible reminder of the important work Girlguiding does in empowering girls and young women to reach their full potential.

Sporting update Sporting update

The sporting calendar has been busy this week! First of all, a massive well done to all of our cross country runners! As always for cross country, they tackled an extremely wet and muddy course (in the pouring rain), but they did not let this bother them. Everybody finished the course, there were some fantastic placings and lots of smiles.

Following this, yesterday, some of our KS2 pupils took part in a 3vs3 Futsal tournament at Hanson Academy. The boys performed brilliantly, with one of the teams going unbeaten. There was also time for the Panathlon team to have fun in their latest competition.
