Deer Run Newsletter
Friday, September 5, 2025
Deer Run Families,
We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the start of a new school year! Your support and involvement in our school community are invaluable, and we want to take a moment to share some important updates and celebrations with you.
We are continuing to administer our beginning-of-the-year assessments. This important process helps us gather information to guide our instruction and support your child's growth. Thank you for your support during this time.
Also, we would like to extend a big thank-you to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night yesterday evening! It was wonderful to connect with so many of you. If you were unable to attend, please look out for the presentations in today’s classroom newsletters.
Mark your calendars! Picture Day is next Tuesday. Please ensure your child comes dressed in their best. This is a wonderful opportunity to capture their school memories. Information was sent home this week regarding purchasing picture day packages.
We truly appreciate your ongoing support. Our students are already becoming familiar with school expectations, and together we are building a strong foundation for a successful year ahead. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family.
Have a wonderful weekend and (as always) Go Bucks!😀

After School Activities
Dublin City Schools is happy to collaborate with local organizations to bring families a wide variety of after school enrichment opportunities for students! Explore the After School Activities page to discover activities and programs your child will love. Check them out today – many classes start next week!
Dismissal Changes
In the event of an emergency and the need to change a student's dismissal method be sure to send an email to the classroom teacher AND the attendance email (Dres_attendance@dublinschools.net). Teachers are extremely busy during the school day, therefore, it is not guaranteed that the teacher would have time to review the parent email prior to dismissal. Be sure to submit changes as early as possible to increase the likelihood that the communication will be received by our school team prior to dismissal.
Student Car Drop Off and Pick Up
As a reminder, car drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Girl Scouts
KINDERGARTEN GIRL SCOUTS - All K girls are invited to try Girl Scouts at a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 6:00-7:00pm in the Commons at Deer Run. Girls will learn some fun Girl Scout traditions and get to know more about Girl Scouts. For more information or to RSVP, email Laurie Wirt at lwirt@gsoh.org.
