Vision for Green Sea Floyds Elementary
Greatness - Service - Family
Green Sea Floyds Elementary is committed to the service of all students. We aspire to empower students to achieve greatness by providing meaningful learning experiences and fostering a family atmosphere that supports the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
GSFE Greatness: Testing with Confidence
Spring testing season is almost here! Families play an important role in helping students feel confident, calm, and ready to do their best. Here are some simple, effective strategies to support your child as testing approaches:
Strategies for Helping Students Prepare for Testing
-
Establish Consistent Routines
Maintain regular bedtimes and morning routines to ensure students are well-rested and ready to focus. -
Prioritize Attendance
Being at school every day—especially on testing days—helps students stay confident and on track. -
Encourage a Positive Mindset
Remind students to do their best and reassure them that effort matters more than perfection. -
Practice at Home
Review basic skills such as reading daily, practicing math facts, and discussing what your child is learning. -
Celebrate Effort
Recognize hard work and growth, not just scores. Encouragement goes a long way!
Together, we can help our students approach spring testing with confidence and success. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting learning every day!

GSFE Greatness: Learning to Play, Learning to Shine
Our Green Sea Floyds Elementary PTO recently purchased guitars for our 3rd–5th grade students, providing an exciting new hands-on learning opportunity in music class. Mr. Lewis has been working closely with students, teaching them how to read music and play the guitar. The excitement and enthusiasm coming from the music room has been incredible—students are having a blast learning a new skill!
We are so thankful to our PTO for investing in the music program at Green Sea Floyds Elementary and for supporting experiences that enrich student learning and creativity. Your continued support helps our students grow and explore new talents.
GSFE Service: CMC Sock Drive
We are proud to celebrate a major success in service learning at Green Sea Floyds Elementary!
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of our students, families, and staff, we collected an incredible 1,695 pairs of socks to donate to Conway Medical Center.
We are especially proud of how this effort reflects our school vision: Greatness - Service - Family
-
Greatness in setting and exceeding our goal
-
Service in giving to those in need
-
Family in coming together as one school community
Thank you to everyone who contributed, donated, and supported this important cause. Your generosity shows what makes our school truly special.
Together, we are making a difference—one pair of socks at a time!
GSFE Family: House Standings
We are so proud of all our students—keep encouraging them to work hard each day as they earn their way toward the final reward: the Family Kingdom field trip.

Fine Arts Focus: Art with Mr. Moore
During the first half of the 2025–2026 school year, our art units have featured modeling clay, construction paper, scissors, glue, Legos, watercolor paints, colored pencils, crayons, and markers. Make a World by artist Ed Emberley is always handy at your child’s art station. Even Miss Brown has some of his books available in the library for students to check out.
The themes we have explored this year cover a wide variety of subjects. We kicked off the year with back-to-school drawings, followed by My Neighborhood, letter and number tricks, drawing with shapes, the human figure (people), Halloween, landscapes, Red Ribbon Week, food, Christmas, New Year’s, USA flags and states, world flags and travel destinations, pets (dogs, cats, mice, and more), Valentine’s Day, and architecture.
Coming soon to an art room near you, we will be making tin-foil action figures and drawing the night sky using new construction paper crayons on black paper. Other upcoming units will feature bugs (and other creepy critters), Easter, furniture, land animals, birds, Medieval Times with Ron Clark House Art, trees, farm animals, wild animals, under the sea, and summer fun.
On Friday, March 27, we will celebrate our Fine Arts Day. Each year, our students are exposed to a variety of music- and art-themed activities.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your students each week. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
