Elementary School Reporting Elementary School Reporting

Elementary families (TK-6) can expect to receive a report card at the end of each trimester (November, March, June) in which students are assessed on our district’s academic standards scale of 1 to 4. Families receive additional information about their child’s progress through progress reports (October, January, May)(for students working below grade level standards) and conferences with their child’s teacher.

Formal conferences occur for all elementary students in the fall (November) and on an as needed basis in the spring (March). The purpose of conferences is for the teacher to share the report card, assessment results, student work samples, individual strengths and areas of growth. Families can also use this time to discuss any concerns they may have as well as ask any questions they may have.

Student progress is reported in reading, writing, listening/speaking, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical education and successful practices, including grit/perseverance, exhibiting a growth mindset, demonstrating gratitude and respect, constructively collaborating and self discipline. Absences or days tardy are also noted on the report cards.
