Hello Parents! I am so excited to welcome your children back for another school year! Here are a few reminders and updates.

• Students should bring their chromebooks to school charged everyday.
  
  
• Homework packets will go home on Mondays and are due the following Monday, however homework should be brought to school everyday.
  
  
• Students will be receiving blue Willard Folders on Tuesdays with flyers and communication from class and the school. Willard Folders should be returned by the Friday of the same week.
  
  
• Please remember to complete and return all forms (contact information, photo releases, and volunteer forms) as soon as possible.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) - Students will identity a personal goal and explain why it is important to them.

Reading & Writing:

• iReady Reading Diagnostic

• Establishing procedures and routines

• Building independent reading and writing stamina

• Review of Comprehension Strategies - Summarizing, Making Connections & Predictions, and Visualizing

• Review steps in the writing process - (focus on pre-writing strategies)

Math: Ready Math Lesson 1 - Understanding Volume

IB Unit of Study: Who We Are (Culture Changes) - In this unit students will explore:

• Elements of Culture
• Students' personal histories, backgrounds and cultures
• Factors that cause cultures to change over time (ex. human interaction, technology, etc.)

Social Studies: Geography of the United States

Science: Beginning of the Year Stemscopes Assessment
