Message from the Principal

West Godwin Families,

Welcome Back!

We hope that you enjoyed a relaxing weekend and our beautiful Michigan fall weather. We were thrilled to greet our students this morning, and we are off to a great start for Marking Period 2.

Last Friday marked the end of Marking Period 1, and teachers completed progress reports that will be sent home with your child on Friday, 10/23/26. Just a reminder that for the first and third nine-week periods, we send progress reports for all students, and for the second and fourth marking periods, we send home traditional report cards with grades for the major subject areas. We hope you were able to discuss your child’s progress during your parent-teacher conferences and that we answered any questions you might have. If you weren’t able to attend a conference, please contact your child’s teacher and set up a time when you can talk.

Thank you for your continued support for our West Godwin students and staff, and if you need us for any reason, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Have a great week,

Karen Baum

Principal, West Godwin

Reporting Absences

We now have an email address to make communication even easier! You can reach us at westoffice@godwinschools.org to report student absences or with any questions you may have. As always, you can also contact the office by phone at 616-252-2030.

Reminder: All absences and appointments must be communicated directly with the office, not just the teacher. If you let the teacher know, please also contact the office so attendance records can be kept accurate. If your child will be absent or tardy, please call or email the office by 9:00 AM to have the absence excused.

We’re here to help and appreciate your partnership!

T.E.A.M. 21

Our TEAM 21 program is an after school program for our first and second grade students. Applications are available by contacting Allie Raches at 616-490-8363 or the school office. Please keep in mind that applying for the program does not automatically mean your child has a spot. Spots are very limited and students are selected based on a variety of criteria.
