Telescope Check Out
Telescope Fun
We are very fortunate to be one of the recipients of a telescope for our program. The telescope donated to Conway is pictured below.
Island County Astronomical Society implemented this program in 2014 and since has placed nine telescopes across all the public libraries in Skagit County. Conway is the first school to receive a telescope in the school library.
An Orion 4.5 inch Star Blast or Zhumell Z114 tabletop astronomical telescope was chosen for the program for its quality and portability. A zoom eyepiece is used giving variable power. This telescope has the ability to view the moon, planets, stars and deep sky objects such as galaxies, clusters and nebulas.
This telescope is easy to use with simple to follow directions linked below.
What do I need to do to return the telescope in good shape for the next person to use?
Telescope is checked out and returned on Monday's only!
Please ensure that you return the telescope on time as others are waiting!
- Cleaned eyepiece. Clean with soft cloth only.
- Eyecup still attached to eyepiece.
- Red dot finder turned off. (Let’s save the battery!)
- All accessories present and accounted for (direction, red dot finder, etc.)
- Let Ms. Holly know if there is any damage.
