• Kendra Clay presents Proposed Classified Personnel Policy Changes 2023

• The goal is to standardize our Classified Policies to be aligned with ASBA (Arkansas School Board Association) Policies. Doing so accomplishes 2 things:

• Adopting ASBA policies puts Springdale in line with other districts in the state. (The vast majority of districts in Arkansas use ASBA Policies) per KClay

• Ease of updating policies due to legislative changes.

• Our current Policies have been created over time and it can be difficult to identify and maintain changes within its current layout.

• ASBA will send us updates in policy as legislation passes. Using their format makes it easy to identify what policies need to be updated.

• Certified Policies and Student Policies have been updated to align with ASBA in the last 2-3 years.

• The PPC wasn’t able to thoroughly look over the proposed changes so no vote was taken. Kendra Clay would like to present the policies to the School Board in April or May so the PPC meeting will be moved from April 13th to April 6th. The PPC members will read over policies, ask questions and make suggestions to Kendra Clay over the next month and will discuss them at the next meeting on April 6th.
