Notes from Mr. Gillespie...
Wow! October is really flying by! Last week was filled with learning, laughter, and wonderful moments across our school, and the week ahead looks to be just as exciting!
We have officially wrapped up our first nine weeks and are well on our way into the second quarter. It is hard to believe how quickly the school year is moving! As we continue to grow and learn together, I am so proud of the hard work our students and staff put in each day.
This Wednesday and Thursday, students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. to allow time for parent-teacher conferences. We look forward to connecting with our families, celebrating student successes, and discussing the amazing things your child is doing at school. These conversations are an important part of the partnership between home and school, and we appreciate your continued support.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Hardin Park family. Together, we will continue to make this a fantastic year for our Golden Eagles!
Letβs Go, Golden Eagles!
π« Parent-Teacher Conferences: October 28β29
Parent-teacher conferences are an important opportunity to support the continued success of our students. These conversations strengthen the partnership between home and school, allowing families and teachers to share insights, celebrate progress, identify areas for growth, and work together to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.
To help you make the most of your conference, here are a few questions you may want to ask your child's teacher:
What are my child's greatest strengths, and where have you seen growth this year?
Is my child meeting grade-level expectations in reading, math, and other subject areas?
What skills or areas should my child focus on improving?
How does my child participate in class and interact with peers?
Are there any concerns about my child's academic progress, behavior, or social-emotional well-being?
What can we do at home to support learning and reinforce classroom instruction?
What goals should we work toward together before the next conference?
Thank you for making time to connect with your child's teacher. When families and schools work together, we create the strongest foundation for student growth and success. We appreciate your continued partnership and support of our Golden Eagles!
π Halloween Costume Day
Halloween is a fun and exciting time of year, and we look forward to seeing our Golden Eagles celebrate! On Friday, October 30, students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day, please do not send costume accessories such as weapons or other items that could be mistaken for dangerous objects. Masks and full-face paint are not permitted, as students need to remain easily identifiable throughout the school day. We also ask that costumes be age-appropriate and not overly frightening or disruptive to the learning environment.
Thank you for helping us make Halloween fun, safe, and enjoyable for everyone at Hardin Park!
π A Friendly Reminder About Dogs on Campus
We have recently found quite a bit of evidence of dogs being on our campus, particularly on the Kβ2 playground and football field. This is a friendly reminder that dogs are not permitted on school grounds during and after school hours. This policy helps us maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our students, staff, and families.
We ask that all families and community members help us keep our campus clean and safe by leaving pets at home when visiting, accessing the playground, or walking on school grounds. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us take care of our Hardin Park campus!
π Limited A Bus Routes
As we prepare for the possibility of inclement weather, please review the designated stop times and locations for our Limited A bus routes. These routes may be used when weather conditions make it unsafe for buses to travel on certain roads. Please plan to have your child at the designated stop a few minutes before the scheduled time.
We encourage all families who may be affected by these routes to review the information in advance and make any necessary arrangements. Student safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate changing weather conditions. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our Golden Eagles!
