Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to share that our school will be offering a series of free volleyball development sessions for girls in Grades 5–12 this June. These sessions are designed to help students learn new skills, strengthen existing ones, and prepare for the upcoming fall season.

Session Dates: June 2, 4, 9 & 11

Session Times:

• Grades 5 & 6: 3:45–4:45 p.m.

• Grades 7 & 8: 4:45–6:00 p.m.

• Grades 9–12: 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Girls volleyball is currently the fastest‑growing sport in Canada, with many communities now offering opportunities to play year‑round. To ensure our school teams remain competitive and our athletes continue to grow, we believe that additional training opportunities like these are essential.

Whether your child is brand new to volleyball or hoping to sharpen their skills ahead of fall tryouts, we strongly encourage participation. With the possibility of limited coaching staff and a growing number of girls eager to play next season, not all players may be guaranteed a spot on a team. These sessions offer a valuable chance to build confidence, improve technique, and stay active in a supportive environment.

All sessions will be led by dedicated coaches from our school and community who are committed to helping our athletes succeed.

Hanna is excited to welcome the Alberta Air Tour on June 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Hanna Community Airport.

This unique fly-in event will bring pilots from across the region to Hanna for the day, offering a rare opportunity to see a variety of aircraft up close and meet the people who fly them. Once they arrive, planes will be parked and secured, allowing visitors to walk among them and take in the experience.

Aircraft are expected to arrive by late morning, with departures beginning in the mid-afternoon.

The event will offer a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, with food and beverages available for purchase, local organizations on site, and free cotton candy while supplies last. Vendors will be cash only, so please bring small bills.

This event is sponsored by the Hanna and District Chamber of Commerce and Harvest Sky Economic Development.

We look forward to welcoming you to the airport for an enjoyable afternoon in the community.
