Parent-Teacher Conferences
Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16, 2026 · 2:00–7:00 p.m.
Parent-teacher conferences are an important way to strengthen the connection between home and school, so we can work together as partners in your child's education. Conferences are a chance to learn about your child's progress in class, their social growth, and their unique strengths. They're also a chance for you to share what you know about your child, so we can better support them at school.
Making the Most of Conferences
Before the conference
- Talk with your child about how school is going and how they feel about their classes.
- Help them come up with questions for their teacher, and bring those questions with you.
During the conference
- Start with your most important concerns, since time is limited.
- Ask for more explanation or examples whenever you need them. Teachers welcome your questions.
After the conference
- Talk with your child about the conference: what you learned and what stood out.
- Make a plan together to build on strengths and work on areas for growth.
- Send the teacher a quick note, email, or call to say thank you and to follow up on anything that needs clarifying.
- Stay in touch with the teacher throughout the year, and schedule another meeting anytime you need one.

Share Your Voice: Fall S-CAP Family Survey
Hanover participates in the Student-Centered Accountability Program (S-CAP), which uses surveys of staff, students, and parents to evaluate whole-student outcomes and learning climates in rural districts. This fall, we invite you to share your views about your child's school by completing the S-CAP Family Survey.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! Your responses will help school and district leaders improve the learning experience for all our students.
- It's anonymous.
No one will know your identity, not even the University of Colorado Denver researchers who administer the survey.
- It's quick.
The survey takes about 10-15 minutes on average.
- One survey per school.
If you have children in more than one school, you're welcome to take the survey for each school.
Please complete the survey by October 31, 2026:

Dressing for Fall Weather
As we head into fall, our weather can change quickly. A chilly morning at drop-off can turn into a warm afternoon, and sunny days can shift to wind, rain, or even an early snow with little warning. Please help your child be ready for whatever the day brings.
A few helpful tips:
- Layer up. A t-shirt with a sweatshirt or light jacket lets students adjust as temperatures rise and fall throughout the day.
- Check the forecast. A quick look each morning can help you plan for recess, PE, and the walk or bus ride home.
- Send a jacket, even on warm mornings. Students go outside for recess in most weather, so a coat or warm layer is a must.
- Wear sturdy shoes. Closed-toe shoes are best for cooler, wet days and active play.
- Label everything. Jackets, hats, and gloves are easy to misplace. Writing your child's name inside helps us return items quickly. Be sure to check our Lost and Found!
- Plan ahead for colder days. As winter approaches, hats, gloves, and warmer coats will become important.
If your family needs help getting seasonal clothing, please reach out to the front office. We're happy to connect you with resources, confidentially.
Thank you for helping keep our students warm, comfortable, and ready to learn!
