STAAR Testing
We are officially done with STAAR Testing for this school year. Thank you for ensuring that your child was in attendance to take their exam. We should have results at the end of May.
Jumping Palooza
We have partnered up with Boba Tea to host our first ever Dia de los Ninos Jumping Palooza! The event will take place during all P.E. classes. The cost for the event is $6. Students will have access to jumping balloons, a bag of popcorn and juice. Students will be allowed to wear free dress in honor of the day.
Online Registration
We still need about 25% of our families to complete registration. We ask that it be completed by this Friday. Students who are still pending registration will begin to lose end of year privileges to include Field Day. It is imperative that registration be completed for scheduling purposes. Please note that this directly impacts our staffing as we cannot create classes for teachers if students are not registered in the system. If you need assistance, please call (915) 937-8500 or stop by the campus.
DNA Technology Updates
We have started sending out reminders about any fines tied to technology. We have payment plans available for any families who need an extension. Students with pending fines will not be allowed to participate in end of year activities. All fines will need to be settled by May 16, 2025.
$25- Damaged or Missing Charger
$40- Damaged Laptop
$100- Lost Laptop
#TeamSISD All Star Awards
We will be holding our final #TeamSISD All Star Awards Ceremony this Thursday, May 1, at 1:00pm. Students receiving the award will be allowed to wear free dress. If you are planning on taking your student with you after the ceremony, we ask that you complete the permission slip to speed up the process. Please indicate on the paper if you will be checking out additional students to make your experience more efficient.
Graduation Photos
Hot Shots will be back for one more photo session. Students in PK3, PK4, Kinder and 5th Grades will be taking their end of year graduation photos. Students in PK3, PK4, Kinder and 5th Grades will wear a blue graduation cap and gown. Pictures will be taken on Friday, May 9.
Teacher Appreciation Week
We will be celebrating our teachers all of next week, beginning on May 5. We encourage students to make cards for their teachers to help spoil them and thank them for all that they do.

Perfect Attendance Initiative
Our attendance incentive is up and running. Students with perfect attendance, ZERO absences and ZERO tardies, from February 3, 2025-May 15, 2025, will be eligible for our Perfect Attendance Pool Party on May 16, 2025.
In addition to our perfect attendance initiative, we will resume with our morning Bingo Game to reduce tardies. Students must be on time to participate. Prizes will be awarded as students achieve Bingo on the Bingo cards.
MP4 Testing Schedule
Please avoid scheduling appointments on the following dates to ensure that students are in class for testing.
Spirit Shirts Available for 2025
Roadrunner Spirit shirts are on sale now! Shirts may be purchased in the office for $15. Online orders may also be placed using the link below. Adult sizes are also available for proud parents, grandparents and community members!
Attendance Matters
We will be targeting our attendance rate this year to ensure that our students are in class everyday learning and growing. Absences not only affect a child's education, but it can also impact their social emotional needs. Absences also impact district funding resulting in a loss of programs and personnel.
Our campus goal is 97%, and we know that we achieve this goal together. Students have been provided with an attendance tracker to help keep track of their own attendance throughout the year. Weekly, monthly and quarterly incentives will be provided to all students with perfect attendance. Please note that illnesses and emergencies will be excused with the proper documentation. Notes may be emailed to attendancerojas@sisd.net. For extenuating circumstances, please contact Mrs. Baez, Attendance Administrator, at (915) 937-8500.
After School Tutoring Bus Routes
Bus routes for after school tutoring can be found below. Please note that there is only one bus for all routes.
2024-2025 Dismissal Procedures
Our campus has two dismissal times for different grade levels. This is to help ease the traffic congestion that would build up if we had all students dismissing at the same time. We ask that you adhere to the dismissal procedures in order to ensure that we have a quick, efficient and SAFE dismissal for all. As a reference for all parents, our dismissal takes exactly 15 minutes from the time the dismissal bell rings until the last student is loaded. Please review the procedures below.
Bauman Road Holding Zone
PreK and Kinder students will be allowed to form a line on the dirt road closest to the street for the 2:45pm dismissal. Early bird parents waiting for the 3:15pm pickup may form a second line next to the PK and Kinder Vehicles.
The second line should begin after Anaheim Ln to ensure that there is enough room for all vehicles. After the 2:45pm pickup line is allowed to enter into the parking lot, early arrivers may move into the lane to begin forming the 3:15pm line. Please review pictures.
Pick Up Cards
All vehicles using the pick up zone will need to have their student pick up card displayed in the window. Once your child is in the vehicle, please remove the card from the window, so we know you are ready to exit.
Drive Up Procedures
As you drive up to the student area, we ask that you remain in your vehicle. School staff is available to help load students into cars. Do not leave your vehicle unattended. Once your child is loaded, you may exit your vehicle to help buckle in your student. Staff will not secure any seatbelts for liability purposes. Once your child is securely strapped in, we ask that you exit the parking lot.
No Parking
Parents will not be allowed to park inside the parking lot during dismissal times. We are seeing an increased number of vehicles parking in the parking lot and cutting in front of other vehicles. This is not allowed out of fairness to everyone. We have timed our procedures and it takes five minutes from the time a vehicle enters the parking lot, to the time we load students. Please help us keep the system running efficiently. Please note that the fire department conducts random inspections to ensure that the area is safe. Violators will be cited.
Interested in Becoming a Volunteer?
If you are interested in working with our team of volunteers, please contact Mrs. Cristina Hernandez, Parent Liaison today! We have several projects lined up for the last nine weeks. Together, we can accomplish so much, and as much as we love having our family members in the building, your Roadrunner loves it more!
As a reminder, especially as we enter "Field Trip Season," parents are required to complete a total of 50 hours if they are interested in attending the trip as a chaperone.
