Dear East Windsor Regional Community,

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, we will reopen our doors, and warmly and enthusiastically welcome the return of our students! September 7 will be a full day for students. The beginning of the school year is a special time and represents the launchpad to another year of teaching and learning, while continuing to cultivate a sense of connection and community within each of our schools.

In preparation for the opening of another year, our dedicated custodial teams have been working diligently to ensure that each school building is cleaned and ready for staff and students. Due to the volume of construction taking place this summer, this has not always been easy. Their tireless efforts and attention to detail are greatly appreciated. Our exceptional teachers have been planning lessons and setting up their classrooms to embrace a new year of making a tremendous difference in the lives of children. I am also pleased to share that we just completed three days of new teacher orientation this week. The induction program provided an opportunity to transition a new cohort of educators to our district. Attendees participated in various workshop sessions that were designed to help them understand the culture of the district, and relevant aspects related to their specific roles. I also had the pleasure of meeting with our bus drivers today, who engaged in a practice run of their bus routes, to ensure a smooth and efficient start to the year. As a district, we are extremely fortunate to have our own fleet of buses, and a team of committed and skilled drivers to safely transport our students to and from school each day.

Within this update, are reminders about our Back to School Nights, which will all be held in-person this year. There’s also information regarding building visitor procedures that will be consistent across all schools.

I am looking forward to another year of exciting learning opportunities and endless possibilities that await our talented students!

Sincerely,

Mark Daniels

Superintendent of Schools
