Roaring to Success : March Edition
Roaring with Pride
Lion Community,
As we step into March, I am incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our Lions! Our 8th Grade Boys Basketball team are District Champions! Our 8th Grade Girls Softball team also captured the District Championship last month! Our DMS Diamonds Dance Team shined brightly, earning the Team Gold Award for Precision and Overall Execution of Choreography and placing 2nd in the Best in Category Pom Routine. They poured their hearts into every step! Our UIL Science, Math, Calculator, and Number Sense teams competed and made us proud demonstrating academic excellence!
Our DMS Science Olympians competed at South Texas College and brought home 1st Place in Code Busters, 1st Place in Experimental Design, and 3rd Place in Write It, Do It!. Our DMS Special Olympics Basketball team represented our campus with heart and pride too! We are so proud of our Special Olympians!
Our IB Academy Lions showcased their creativity and global-mindedness through 15-second promotional videos in both the English and Spanish languages. Our Cheerleaders earned 1st Place in Band Chant, 1st Place in Crowd Leading, and 2nd Place Overall in district competition! Our UIL One Act Play Thespians continue preparing for their performance of The Amazing Lemonade Girl, and inspire excellence in the arts. Orchestra, Band, and Choir continue their outstanding UIL preparations and performances.
Our amazing faculty and staff members' continued commitment to our organization is evident each and every day.
There is amazing teaching and learning happening in your classrooms—our story deserves to be celebrated! We can’t wait to see what terrific things March will bring. Lastly, be sure to Spring your clocks Forward on Sunday!
