Getting Excited for Spring!
Greetings LTUSD friends and family,
I can definitely feel spring in the air, and Spring Break is almost here! Be sure to mark your calendars: schools will be closed April 6–10.
Last week, we held our fourth annual State of the District, right on cue with those first signs of spring. Thank you to everyone who came out. It was such a great evening. The room was full of positive energy, and it was inspiring to see so many people come together.
A big highlight was our keynote speaker, Michelle Trujillo, who shared a powerful reminder about the importance of building strong connections with one another. If you missed it, check out the Tahoe Daily Tribune article by clicking the photo to the right with Dr. Cutler and Michelle Trujillo!
Best,
Teresa Schow

Check out the YouTube video of the March 12, 2026, Board of Education meeting.
There was more happening at the March 12 Board of Education meeting than you might expect—it’s well worth a watch. One highlight was the recognition of student athletes from South Tahoe High School’s Nordic and Alpine ski teams. Coaches and staff shared their impressive accomplishments, including competing at the state level and the continued growth of both programs. It’s a moment you won’t want to miss.
Members of the Superintendent’s Student Bike Safety Committee also provided an update on their work over the past several months and shared what’s ahead, including the launch of a pilot student bike registration program and a new bike safety campaign.
Photos of STHS student athletes, coaches, and board members, as well as members of the Bike Safety Committee, are also included below. You can watch the full meeting on YouTube by clicking on the photos below.

Mt. Tallac students are getting hands-on experience with our District’s Grounds and Maintenance teams as they explore skilled trades!
Throughout March, students have been learning about electrical components and troubleshooting while building real-world skills such as soldering pipes, working with a variety of tools, and gaining a closer look at different trades.
These experiences are just a glimpse into the engaging opportunities we offer to help students discover potential career pathways and future employment interests. The picture below shows students working with our Grounds and Maintenance teams.
